25 January 2013 12:52

Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci used all their experience to win the women's doubles titles at the Australian Open 6-2 3-6 6-2 on Friday.

The Italian duo - reigning French and US Open doubles champions - needed three sets to beat unseeded local pair Casey Dellacqua and Ashleigh Barty in a match that lasted one hour and 42 minutes.

The top-seeded duo raced into a 5-1 lead to clinch the first set within thirty minutes.

Barty and Dellacqua were able to fight back in the second, breaking the top-seeded pair in the eighth game to force a decider.

They managed another break early in the third but could not go on with the job as Errani and Vinci recovered - dropping just one more game en route to winning a third major out of four.
