Format:

18 teams, each plays the others twice - home and away - for a total of 34 games each, over 34 game weeks.



Scoring points:

3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss.



Table order:

1. points won; 2. points in head-to-head matches; 3. goal difference in hth matches; 4. goals scored in hth matches; 5. total goal difference; 6. total goals scored; 7. play-off.



Qualification for UEFA competitions:

1 place: 2015/2016 UEFA Champions League qualifiers

2-3 place: 2015/2016 UEFA Europa League qualifiers

4 place: possible 2015/2016 UEFA Europa League qualifiers (depends on Cupa României outcome)



Relegation from the league:

13-18 place: relegated to 2015/2016 Liga II



Promotion to the League:

2 teams from 2014/2015 Liga II



Changes from last season:

Braşov, ACS Poli Timişoara, Săgeata Năvodari and Corona Braşov relegated to Liga II

CSMS Iaşi, Rapid Bucureşti, CS U Craiova and Târgu Mureş promoted from Liga II



Changes before the season:

Vaslui, 5th last season, doesn't receive a Liga I license and is relegated.

As a result Braşov, 15th last season and due to be relegated; avoids relegation.



Changes from next season:

League to be reduced to 14 teams.
