Season


Format:

12 teams, each plays the others three times - of which at least once home and once away - for a total of 33 games each, over 33 game weeks.



Scoring points:

3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss.



Table order:

1. points won; 2.* total goal difference; 3.* total goals scored; 4. points in head-to-head matches; 5. goal difference in hth matches; 6. away goals in hth matches (only if exactly two teams are tied); 7. goals scored in hth matches; 8.* draw; 9. play-off.

* - tie-breakers only used for ties that do not involve deciding the champion, UEFA competitions participation, play-offs participation or relegation.



Qualification for UEFA competitions:

1 place: 2013/2014 UEFA Champions League qualifiers

2-3 place: 2013/2014 UEFA Europa League qualifiers

4 place: possible 2013/2014 UEFA Europa League qualifiers (depends on Cup outcome)



Relegation from the league:

9-10 place: enter Play-offs 1/2 with two Second League teams for 2 places in 2013/2014 First League

11-12 place: relegated to 2013/2014 Second League



Promotion to the league:

2 teams from 2012/2013 Second League

2 more teams from 2012/2013 Second League possible to promote through Play-offs 1/2



Changes from last season:

Ohrid and 11 Oktomvri relegated to Second League

Pelister and Drita promoted from Second League



UEFA competitions qualifiers:

2013/2014 UEFA Champions League - 2nd Qualifying Round: Vardar (as champion)

2013/2014 UEFA Europa League - 1st Qualifying Round: Teteks (11th, as Cup winner), Metalurg (as 2nd) and Turnovo (as 3rd)
