Season


Format:

10 teams, each plays the others four times - twice at home and twice away - for a total of 36 games each, over 36 game weeks.



Scoring points:

3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss.



Table order:

1. points won; 2. play-off (only for deciding the champion); 3. less matches awarded against; 4. games won; 5. points in head-to-head matches; 6. goal difference in hth matches; 7. total goal difference; 8. total goals scored; 9. fairplay ranking.



Qualification for UEFA competitions:

1 place: 2017/2018 UEFA Champions League qualifiers

2-3 place: 2017/2018 UEFA Europa League qualifiers

4 place: possible 2017/2018 UEFA Europa League qualifiers (depends on Cup outcome)



Relegation from the league:

9 place: enters Play-offs 1/2 with one Esiliiga A team for 1 place in 2017 Meistriliiga

10 place: relegated to 2017 Esiliiga A



Promotion to the league:

1 team from 2016 Esiliiga A

1 more team from 2016 Esiliiga A possible to promote through Play-offs 1/2
