Minute   Description
Serie A does not rest for either team too; Inter are straight back into the fray when they host Fiorentina on September 25 while Sampdoria travel to Cagliari a day later. Until then however, thank you for joining us - and have a great weekend!
Wow. Three disallowed goals - two in the final 10 minutes - and an injury-time winner from Marcelo Brozovic caps off an brilliantly dramatic Serie A encounter, with Inter picking up their second win of the season. Both sides thought they had won it late on at different points - but it is the visitors who take the spoils. At full-time, it finishes Sampdoria 0-1 Inter.
90'+6 FULL-TIME: SAMPDORIA 0-1 INTER
90'+5 Tonelli is booked for a silly foul from the restart and Inter have a free-kick that will surely help them eat down the clock.
90'+4 BROZOVIC TO SURELY WIN IT FOR INTER! 1-0! There's no need for a second look with this one; from a free-kick out on the left wing, Inter tip it in and a defensive header puts it straight to the Croatia star who blasts a low shot through the fingertips of Audero. The visitors look like they have snatched three points - at last! - in the most dramatic of finales.
90'+2 Ramirez makes way for Sala now in the final change of the game.
90'+1 No goal too! What drama! Two VAR decisions, one at either end of the field, and both goals are disallowed. This is a sensational finish to this game.
Valero is also booked for an unknown reason, though it looks like it may be for dissent.
90' Defrel is meanwhile booked for his celebration as the VAR check continues. There will be five added minutes when we resume.
89' Goal Gregoire Defrel
88' No goal! VAR shows that the ball had crossed the line for a goal-kick before it was cut back, and Inter have their score chalked off. It remains 0-0.
85' Quagliarella! It's a tight miss from the Sampdoria man, who sticks a follow-up from an Andersen header just wide of the left post.
83' Miranda concedes a corner for Inter and again, Sampdoria hand it to Jankto who puts the ball over the crossbar in a similar manner to his previous effort.
Valero is the latest man to enter the fray, replacing Nainggolan for Inter.
82' The hosts win a second corner which they then turn to Jankto, who blasts an effort both wide and high with a wasteful strike.
80' Ekdal embarks on a wonderful dribble for Sampdoria, and just sees his tight shot from the left of the box pushed wide for a corner.
77' There's another pause in play for an injury, this time for Perisic after he tumbled following an attempted diving header.
74' If any side is going to claim the win here, Inter would be the favourites; Sampdoria have rarely got away from their own box for prolonged plays in this half, but the visitors are still missing that final touch.
72' A worrying sight for Inter fans; captain Icardi leaps up to land a header that sails wide of the goal and doesn't get back to his feet after he hits the ground. He eventually rises slowly, clutching at his shoulder grimly; that looked painful.
70' Candreva has played his part for Inter and now makes way for Keita.
69' Inter earn a second set-piece from the first following a deflected shot but Sampdoria see off the immediate danger once more, conceding a throw-in further downfield this time.
67' Sampdoria concede a relatively soft corner after Audero puts out a booming Candreva cross that was already headed for the roof of the net.
63' Candreva looks to test Audero from distance, whipping across a 25-yard effort from out wide on the right wing that the keeper has to leap to claim.
60' Inter also make a change now, taking off Politano for Perisic.
59' ...and Barreto replaces Praet.
Sampdoria make a pair of swaps as the hour-mark approaches; Linetty makes way for Jankto...
58' Vecino flips a throughball downfield for Candreva to chase but the latter is flagged for offside.
56' Icardi with the diving header! The Inter captain gets low to meet Candreva's cross off the right wing and just pushes his effort wide at the near post. The wait goes on for a league goal this season.
54' Inter earn themselves two more consecutive corners but neither time can they breach the Sampdoria defence.
52' The visitors play the set-piece into a crowded box and Audero is forced into a leaping save near his left post after another attempt from Candreva deflects wildly into the air.
50' Off the post from Candreva! The Inter man's lofted shot from the right takes a wicked deflection off the left side of the woodwork and Sampdoria quickly bustle it out for a corner.
48' The visitors win themselves an early corner but some aggressive defence from Sampdoria turns the set-piece into a fast-paced counter that gets the hosts up to halfway.
46' We're back underway in this Serie A clash; can Inter recover from their VAR no-goal to hand themselves a vital league victory?
There's not much either side could do to improve on their first-half showings, but the hosts may want to look at sharpening up their defence out wide; Inter have been able to pepper Sampdoria with a strong crossing game so far.
An end-to-end encounter at Stadio Luigi Ferraris so far - and one that remains goalless after the VAR overturned Radja Nainggolan's effort just before the whistle for the break. There's nothing to split these two sides; at half-time, it's Sampdoria 0-0 Inter.
45'+2 HALF-TIME: SAMPDORIA 0-0 INTER
45' No goal! The referee chalks it off after VAR showed that Candreva was offside in the build-up. The score remains locked at 0-0 with two minutes of injury time to come.
40' Nainggolan clatters Murru and the latter picks up a free-kick in his own half that, played long, gives Sampdoria a chance to play into the opposition half.
39' There's a brief stoppage in play after Nainggolan injures himself trying to catch a ball with a high leg inside the Sampdoria box, to no avail.
36' Vecino! The Inter man comes up trumps with the header from the set-piece and watches it tickle the outside of the left post as it sails past, following an initial touch from D'Ambrosio.
35' Candreva, supplied by a Brozovic ball, lets fly with a shot from the left side of the box, but it takes a wicked deflection off Tonelli to sail out for a corner.
34' From the restart, Nainggolan strays across Ramirez and concedes a free-kick.
33' Close for Inter! Vecino meets a cross from Candreva, having nipped into the Sampdoria box, and angles it low, only for a wicked bounce to take it over the crossbar.
31' Nainggolan picks up a free-kick in his own half now after Tonelli catches him with a foul.
29' It's a fairly even encounter so far, though Sampdoria are shading it in both possession and shots. The hosts have kept the misfiring Inter lynchpins quiet for the most part but they still remain wary of their ability to turn a game.
27' Vecino crashes into Quagliarella and concedes the free-kick just shy of halfway. Sampdoria play it long down the left wing but Ramirez is flagged for offside as he gives chase.
24' Quagliarella and Ramirez combine down the left wing to cut into the Inter box and the former provides the latter with a neat cut-back that is duly scuffed wide in a looping arc to the left.
20' Miranda is shown the yellow card for a foul on Defrel following a lazy challenge.
19' This time, Sampdoria are able to prevent Icardi from making an effort by sweeping the corner away from under his feet on the edge of the box and they counter to halfway.
18' Tonelli concedes a corner and Inter swing it deep this time; Politano pokes a shot towards goal and sees it blocked for a second set-piece.
17' Inter counter with an attempt of their own, with Nainggolan laying a low shot towards goal from outside the box. Audero goes low to his left to stop it, but the effort has no real power behind it by the time it reaches him.
15' Again, Sampdoria create a chance through Quagliarella who puts his shot towards the right post, this time from outside the box. Handanovic again gets both gloves to the effort and saves without serious exertion.
13' Quagliarella picks up a long pass sent soaring downfield on the edge of the Inter box and he turns two defenders inside out to loop a shot in between them. Handanovic tracks it well though and saves without trouble.
11' Two fantastic chances for Sampdoria present themselves in a row as Defrel and Linetty see their shot and follow-up effort from a cross respectively blocked by Miranda.
9' Sampdoria concede a corner as Bereszynski sees off a potential cross on the left wing. Inter play short before swinging it in; the hosts anticipate their move though and clear the dangerous ball lofted in by Brozovic.
7' From the free-kick, Inter play it wide out left to Candreva who spears a cross back into the box, straight into the hands of the keeper Audero.
6' Linetty makes a late challenge that rakes across the legs of Vecino and is booked for his efforts.
5' Brozovic lofts a wide, booming cross out from left to right in the Inter half, seeking Vecino, but only puts it out for a Sampdoria throw-in.
3' Down the other end, Candreva fires off a shot at goal for Inter, only to see it blocked by the legs of a defender and spin away into open play.
2' Within the opening seconds, the hosts already create a fine chance; Quagliarella meets a cross with an overhead kick that skews right and forces Handanovic into a low save.
