Minute   Description
That is all for tonight folks, thanks for joining us. Goodbye!
Kovac gets off to a winning start as Bayern boss, while Nagelsmann will not be too disappointed after starting with a trip to the champions!
The referee finally ends proceedings at the Allianz Arena and that was a crazy second half in Munich. Muller's header had given Bayern a one-nil lead at the break but Hoffenheim battled bravely to respond. Two VAR incidents caused controversy and the 3-1 scoreline did flatter Bayern this evening.
90'+6 FULL TIME - Bayern 3-1 Hoffenheim.
90'+5 Lewandowski laughs as he fires another shot wide and that should be the last action tonight!
90'+2 Hoffenheim's legs appear to be failing them and they are unable to close down Lewandowski. The striker picks his spot from the edge of the area but he is only able to shoot wide of the target.
90'+1 Six minutes of stoppage time given at the Allianz Arena in what has been one strange game in the Bundesliga. What a spectacle on the opening night of the campaign!
90' GAME OVER 3-1 Bayern!!!! Robben finally grabs the third for the home side and it was very simple. A throw-in from the right was not dealt with by Hoffenheim and Robben latches onto a through ball to thump it home!
Muller's inside pass releases Robben to score.
86' GOAL DISALLOWED - Bayern make it 3-1 after Goretzka's piledriver hits Muller and deflects in. The home side celebrate but the referee makes his way to the sideline to consider VAR again. After a few seconds he has decided that was intentional handball! 2-1 it remains.
Assist Thomas Müller
85' There will be plenty of complaints after the penalty incident but the main thing is Bayern are in front and will now be looking for one more goal to kill this game off.
83' Ribery is now off and Rodriguez is back in the fold after recovering from an injury.
82' GOAALLL Bayern 2-1 Hoffenheim. Finally the goal is confirmed but it is Lewandowski that gets on the scoresheet. The striker missed his first attempt and he uses another staggered approach but goes the opposite way to score.
80' CHAOS!!! Lewandowski is denied thanks to a save from Baumann but Robben taps home. HOWEVER, the referee has used VAR to check the incident and he now wants the penalty to be retaken!!
79' Nordtveit has been on the pitch a matter of seconds but his first involvement is to slide into Ribery. He might have gone down easy, but the referee had no choice. Lewandowski to take...
78' BAYERN PENALTY!!!!
76' CHANCE - Robben plays in fellow winger Ribery but the Frenchman is denied at the near post by Baumann. It remains 1-1 with 14 minutes remaining of regulation time.
74' Vogt limps off and Nordtveit will have 16 minutes to try and help Hoffenheim keep the scoreline at 1-1.
73' Hoffenheim are defending valiantly this evening and they continue to silence Lewandowski. However, that has come at a price as Vogt has suffered an injury and he cannot continue.
70' With subs now on for both teams, the game may slow down for the time being. The home supporters are still behind their team and cheering them on but Hoffenheim are doing a great job to frustrate them!
67' Kovac is going for this as Martínez is replaced by Goretzka. The former Schalke man is now on for his Bayern debut.
Nuhu is hauled off and on comes Akpoguma for the final 20 minutes.
65' Hoffenheim look like they will replace Nuhu after his yellow card earlier in the match...
62' Zuber has made a difference off the bench with his direct runs to try and support the two strikers. Bayern still have plenty of quality to get the job done but they are doing their best to get Nuhu sent off.
59' What a difference a goal makes as Hoffenheim are now playing with so much more freedom in Munich. Game on now with 30 minutes to go.
57' Bicakcic claims the assist after his delicate through ball played in Szalai.
GOAAALLL Bayern 1-1 Hoffenheim. The Allianz Arena falls silent as Szalai thumps the ball into the far corner. Some shocking defending from Boateng allows the striker in and he smashes it across goal and past Neuer.
55' GOAL DISALLOWED - Kimmich plays in Lewandowski who is left unmarked and the Pole slots it home. However, the flag goes up and play will resume.
53' Hoffenheim's defence is nearly carved open but Robben is flagged offside after a through ball attempt from Muller.
51' Unlike the first 45 minutes, the second half has started slowly but Bayern will not mind as they sit on their 1-0 lead.
48' Muller goes down under a challenge from Nuhu and he could now be on his final warning after being the first man into the referee's book.
47' Neuer is forced into an early save at the start of the second half even though the shot from Grillitsch looked to be heading wide of the far post.
46' Nagelsmann is making a change at the break and on comes Zuber in place of Grifo.
We are back underway at the Allianz Arena!
Robben will now be one to watch in the second half, while Lewandowski will want to get involved more. Hoffenheim need to do more with the ball at their feet before the game goes away from them during this opening night of Bundesliga action.
Bayern lead by just a single goal at half-time but they are in total control at the break. Hoffenheim have had just one chance and Joelinton should have easily scored from inside the area. Muller has looked a real threat but the only blow is Coman's injury as he was causing chaos down the right wing.
45'+6 HALF-TIME Bayern 1-0 Hoffenheim.
45'+5 Muller is left frustrated as he is given a card after catching Vogt in the face with a stray arm.
45'+4 Robben now on the field of play as Coman heads into the tunnel.
45'+3 Five minutes of stoppage time following that Coman injury.
45'+2 The referee now dishes out a yellow card for Schulz for the challenge as Coman is carried around the pitch at the Allianz Arena.
45' With Coman still down, veteran Robben is out on the touchline and getting warmed up.
44' Injury worry for Coman as he goes down near the corner flag and he is really struggling with an ankle issue.
43' Yellow card for Kadeřábek and rightly so as he flies through the back of Ribery.
41' The visitors hook it away at the near post but Bayern will be soon back on the attack like they have been for the first 40 minutes.
40' Hoffenheim concede yet another corner and they have minutes to hang on before the half-time interval.
37' SAVE - Coman dribbles his way past a Hoffenheim defender before running towards goal but Hoffenheim keeper Baumann made himself big and produced a solid save. It remains 1-0!
36' Bayern break down the left but Ribery's cross comes to nothing as he puts too much on it and Hoffenheim win a throw-in.
34' CHANCE - Hoffenheim finally create an opening and a low cross from Schulz picks out Joelinton but the youngster misses from inside the box. He allowed it to come across his body but then sliced his shot wide of the target.
31' Hoffenheim's midfield continues to struggle and they are also finding it hard to silence Muller who has enjoyed himself inside the first 30 minutes.
29' Bittencourt joins team-mate Nuhu in the book as he kicks out at Martinez.
28' The rain continues to pour down in Munich and that could cause problems for both goalkeepers as the ball skids off the slick surface.
26' Bayern deservedly lead as he we cross the halfway point of the first half in Munich. Hoffenheim really need to do more in possession if they are to find a way back into the game.
23' Kimmich grabs his first assist of the campaign thanks to a thrilling cross at the near post.
GOAAAALLLLLL Bayern 1-0 Hoffenheim. Muller scores the first goal of the new Bundesliga season for Bayern and he may not get an easier one! The corner finds the Germany internatioinal at the near post and he is able to head home while standing still.
21' Nuhu is the first man into the book on his Bundesliga debut after he chops down Coman.
20' Bayern win a free kick and a teasing ball in causes problems and Hoffenheim are forced to concede a corner!
17' Former Cologne man Bittencourt is making his debut tonight for Hoffenheim and he looks sharp in the early stages.
15' Martinez continues to sit and hover in front of the defence and his intereceptions are working superbly at the minute as he continues to play simple passes that are starting quick attacks.
13' Bayern continue to dictate the tempo inside the opening exchanges and that comes as no surprise. Hoffenheim's midfield five is working overtime to try and keep up but the home side are just edging it at present.
11' CHANCE - From the resulting corner, Bayern defender Boateng picks up possession inside the box and he launches a drilled shot but the visitors recover and several players dive in the way.
9' BLOCK - Coman produces a teasing run before finding Alaba at the far post. The left-back hits a volley with plenty of power but Hoffenheim's Bicakcic comes off worst as he gets in the way and takes the full impact of the shot into his stomatch.
6' The visitors win a corner after a good ball from the left wing from Schulz but the delivery is poor and Kovac's troops clear at the first attempt.
4' Hoffenheim clear the danger and will now come forward in their all grey kit!
3' Winger Ribgery shows plenty of pace to get down the left wing and he wins a corner for the home side...
2' Bayern win an early free kick and Lewandowski is the first man to it but his effort is blocked. The Poland international wanted to leave earlier this summer but he is back to his best after scoring a hat-trick in the 5-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Super Cup.
1' We are underway in Munich and there is a cracking atmosphere as expected at the Allianz Arena.
We will have a delayed start this evening as both teams have only just left the tunnel...
Kovac is without Serge Gnabry tonight after he failed to recover from a thigh issue and new signing Goretzka is forced to settle for a place on the bench. Hoffenheim are without Nadiem Amiri, Kerem Demirbay, Dennis Geiger, Benjamin Hubner, Lukas Rupp, Andrej Kramaric.

TEAM NEWS coming up...
Bayern have won their last four matches but it is Hoffenheim that have the better record and they have not tasted defeat in seven contests. Julian Nagelsmann is set to leave at the end of the campaign but he will be doing all he can to better last year's third-place finish.
The long wait is over for German fans as the domestic season gets back underway, just two months after their disappointing showing at the World Cup. Bayern come into this contest as the favourites but this is Niko Kovac's first league game in charge and Hoffenheim will be doing all they can to upset the party.
Good evening and welcome along to tonight's live coverage of the Bundesliga clash between Bayern Munich and Hoffenheim from the Allianz Arena.
