Minute   Description
Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
Milan sign off the 2017/18 campaign in style with a 5-1 hammering of Fiorentina at the San Siro. The Rossoneri secure their place in the Europa League group stage for next season by virtue of finishing sixth in Serie A. Gennaro Gattuso's men did have to battle back from behind this afternoon after Giovanni Simeone put Fiorentina ahead. However, Hakan Calhanoglu equalised immediately before a brace from Patrick Cutrone along with further strikes from Nikola Kalinic and Giacomo Bonaventura delivered the three points.
90'+2 The referee ends the contest.
90' There will be two minutes of added time.
89' SAVE! Kessie breaks past his man down the right flank and then cuts the ball back for Silva to strike. However, Dragowski makes the save and turns it away from the advancing Antonelli.
87' The end of season pace is now taking control of the contest. Milan are just knocking the ball around the pitch with ease.
85' Torrasi replaces Bonaventura for the home side.
83' Chiesa tries to get on the scoresheet as he curls an effort at goal from the edge of the box, but he places his strike straight at Donnarumma.
82' The pace has faded from the game as both teams seem content to see out the result, which will suit Fiorentina just fine.
80' OVER! Benassi lines up space for a strike from distance, but he can only hammer his effort well over the bar.
78' Antonelli replaces Kalinic for the home side.
76' Calhanoglu offloads to Bonaventura, who does the rest with with his weaving run.
GOALLLLLLLLL!!!!! BONAVENTURA SCORES A BEAUTY!!! Milan have five and this one is the best of the lot. The midfielder picks the ball up in the middle of the park and weaves his way through three challenges to reach the edge of the box. Bonaventura drills his effort low towards the net and it has enough power to beat Dragowski with ease. It has been a miserable half of action for the Fiorentina reserve keeper.
73' Donnarumma has to work his way out of trouble from Calabria's pass. He offloads just in time ahead of Chiesa and Milan build a promising attack. Romagnoli attempts an ambitious strike from distance, only to pull his attempt well wide of the post.
72' Simeone works the ball down the right and offloads towards Cristoforo. He slides the ball across the edge of the box for Benassi to strike. The ball beats the hand of Donnarumma, but drifts just wide of the post.
70' There will be no hat-trick for Cutrone as Silva replaces the forward.
69' Cutrone latches on to Calhanoglu's delivery from a corner at the back post, but he can only guide his effort wide of the target.
67' Cutrone has been outstanding in the final third this evening. He will be desperate to sign off the campaign with a hat-trick.
66' DISALLOWED GOAL! Cutrone nods the ball home, but he was well offside as he converted Rodriguez's cross from the left. Relief for Fiorentina.
63' The visitors have to be careful otherwise the scoreline could get out of hand, although they have not been helped by the decisions of their manager this afternoon.
61' Chiesa continues to be Fiorentina's only outlet in the final third and he cuts in from the left flank to curl an effort to the back post, but it sails comfortably over the bar.
59' Calhanoglu continues his fine performance with another precise offload.
GOALLLLLLLLLL!!!!! CUTRONE HAS HIS SECOND!!! The forward doubles his tally for the afternoon with a low strike, although it's not the best keeping from Dragowski. Cutrone is afforded acres of space in the right inside channel as he latches on to Calhanoglu's pass. He takes a good first touch before firing his effort past the Fiorentina keeper, who was beaten at his near post.
57' BLOCK! Rodriguez moves forward and does not get closed down by the visitors. As a result, he goes for the strike at goal on his left foot from 20 yards, only to be denied by a good block from Gaspar.
55' Kalinic gets the better of Gaspar in the final third and then goes down under pressure from Milenkovic, but the referee waves play on.
52' Saponara works the ball towards Chiesa, who digs out room for a strike from 25 yards. However, it proves to be a comfortable save down low to his right for Donnarumma.
50' Chiesa surges into the left inside channel and fires a low ball across the face of goal. However, there are enough Rossoneri defenders back to clear the danger.
49' GOALLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!! KALINIC SCORES!!!! Milan have their third goal as the striker pounces to convert from close range. Calhanoglu did the damage down the left to open up room for a cross. Cutrone latched on to the delivery, heading down towards the bottom corner. Dragowski made the save, but couldn't push the ball away from goal. Kalinic was the first to react and on the slide he fired home.
47' Donnarumma comes well off his line to make the clearance, punching Saponara's corner away from danger.
Chiesa moves down the left flank and wins an early corner for the visitors off the legs of Calabria.
46' Pezzella also makes way for the visitors to be replaced by Gaspar. Fiorentina are out of substitutes.
Sportiello is withdrawn at the break for Dragowski.
We're back underway at the San Siro.
Milan are on the path to securing a place in the Europa League group stage, holding a 2-1 lead over Fiorentina at the break at the San Siro. Gennaro Gattuso's men were forced to come from behind after the visitors took the lead against the run of play when Giovanni Simeone lifted his strike over Gianluigi Donnarumma. The response from the hosts was immediate as Hakan Calhanoglu curled a free-kick into the bottom corner. Patrick Cutrone put his side ahead just before the break, heading home a fine delivery from Calhanoglu. The Rossoneri have played well and will be determined to see out the term with three points.
45'+3 The referee ends the first half.
WIDE! Kessie slides a pass into the feet of Kalinic, who lays the ball back off to Cutrone on the edge. The forward goes for the blast, firing his effort narrowly past the post.

45' There will be three minutes of added time.

41' Calhanoglu breaks down the right flank and fires a dangerous cross to the near post that's converted by Cutrone.
GOALLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!! CUTRONE PUTS MILAN AHEAD! The forward plants a diving header into the bottom corner, converting Calhanoglu's cross from the right flank. Fiorentina afforded Calhanoglu too much space on the right flank and he whipped a cross into the middle with pace. Cutrone got ahead of his man to make contact with his diving header, sending his effort into the net.
40' Calhanoglu lifts a corner into the box from the right, but the visitors are able to clear their lines with ease.
38' Milan have lost their impetus over the last few minutes. They need to regain the initiative before the end of the half.
36' Birgahi's in trouble as he slips on the turf and appears to have injured his groin. He may have to make way here.
35' Pezzella and Kalinic collide in the box once again as the Milan forward attempts to latch on to Calabria's pass. However, the referee dismisses his appeal for a penalty.
34' Calhanoglu is booked for his dive on the edge of the box.
Rodriguez floats the ball into the middle and Cutrone works the ball back to Calhanoglu. He goes down on the edge of the box, but the referee awards the free-kick to the visitors for simulation.
32' Kalinic and Pezzella battle for the ball in the air and it results in the Fiorentina captain going down in the centre circle. The two players are enjoying a physical tussle.
30' Dabo surges down the left and gets into the left inside channel where he forces a low ball towards the near post. Simeone tries to flick it on, only to be denied by Donnarumma before the Rossoneri scramble it away.
29' Olivera replaces Hugo at the back, who was struggling for the visitors.
28' After treatment on the pitch, Sportiello is cleared to continue the game.
26' Kessie goes into the book for his loose foot on Sportiello.
Milan break on the counter and Calhanoglu releases the run of Kessie. However, the Ivorian takes a terrible first touch and it allows Sportiello to smother the ball at his feet. Kessie leaves his foot in on the Fiorentina keeper, which leaves him on the deck.
25' Benassi has space on the right and he sends a low cross into the middle for Saponara's run. However, Romagnoli manages to get a foot in ahead of the Fiorentina midfielder to quell the danger.
23' GOALLLLLLLLLL!!!! CALHANOGLU RESPONDS!! Milan equalise immediately as Calhanoglu whips his free-kick into the bottom corner. The midfielder opted to curl his effort around the wall and he caught Sportiello out of position. The Fiorentina keeper made a desperate dive to reach the ball, but it had enough power to beat his hand to nestle into the net.
22' Pezzella is booked for his challenge on Kalinic.
Pezzella brings down Kalinic on the edge of the box and the referee awards a free-kick to the home side.
20' Chiesa breaks forward and slides a pinpoint throughball for Simeone to collect and score.
GOALLLLLLLLLLL!!!! SIMEONE PUTS FIORENTINA AHEAD!!! The visitors take the lead completely against the run of play. Bonucci loses out to Dabo and is caught out of position. Chiesa threads the ball through to Simeone in the right inside channel. There's still work for the forward to do, but he holds his composure to lift his effort over Donnarumma into the net. A fine strike from Simeone.
Cutrone chases a long ball over the top and keeps it alive in the corner. He tries to beat the challenge of Biraghi, but he loses the ball out for a goal-kick.
18' Bonaventura releases Calhanoglu into space down the left flank and he has time to pick out a team-mate, but his low cross is intercepted by Cristoforo.
15' Bonucci highlights Milan's dominance in the early stages as he moves forward from the back to the byline. He tries to force the ball across the face of goal, but there are a number of purple shirts back to clear it away for Pioli's men.
14' The visitors need to a get a grip on the game at the back. Their distribution has been very poor to start the contest.
13' SAVE! Fiorentina give the ball away on the edge of their own box. Kalinic collects and goes for the strike, only to be denied by a sharp reaction save from Sportiello.
12' OVER! Kessie surges forward from the middle of the park before pulling the trigger from 25 yards out. He has the power, but not the accuracy, placing his strike wide of the target.
9' Calabria breaks down the right and looks for a cross into the box. However, Hugo is there ahead of Kalinic to head away from danger.
8' CHANCE! Bonaventura releases Kessie behind the Fiorentina defence. He surges into the right inside channel and fends off the challenge of Hugo. However, his effort is blocked by Sportiello, while Calhanoglu on the rebound places his strike just past the post.
6' Fiorentina win a free-kick down right flank as Chiesa is brought down by Calhanoglu. However, Biraghi's delivery is handled with ease by the Milan defence.
5' Kalinic takes control on the edge of the box, but he cannot beat the attention of Hugo, who clears the danger for the visitors.
3' Milan are dominating possession in the opening minutes of the contest, but have not moved into the final third as of yet.
1' We're underway at the San Siro.
STAT! For the first time in their history in Serie A, AC Milan will finish five consecutive campaigns outside of the top four in the table.
Fiorentina were beaten 1-0 last week by Cagliari on the road, ending their Europa League hopes. Saponara, Hugo, Cristoforo and Dabo all start for Pioli's men, while Veretout misses out due to suspension.
Milan have made three changes to the side that drew against Atalanta last time out. Suso, Abate and Biglia come out of the side, while Locatelli, Cutrone and Calabria are all restored into the line-up. Riccardo Montolivo was sent off last week and is suspended this afternoon.
Fiorentina subs: Milan Badelj, Valentin Eysseric, Diego Falcinelli, Maximiliano Olivera, Michele Cerofolini, Gil Dias, Vitja Valencic, Petko Hristov, Bruno Gaspar, Cyril Thereau, Bartlomiej Dragowski.
FIORENTINA (4-3-3): Marco Sportiello; Nikola Milenkovic, German Pezzella, Vitor Hugo, Cristiano Biraghi; Sebastian Cristoforo, Bryan Dabo, Marco Benassi; Federico Chiesa, Giovanni Simeone, Riccardo Saponara.
Milan subs: Andre Silva, Gustavo Gomez, Ignazio Abate, Lucas Biglia, Mateo Musacchio, Marco Storari, Luca Antonelli, Emanuele Torrasi, Frank Tsadjout, Tiago Dias, Antonio Donnarumma.
MILAN (4-3-3): Gianluigi Donnarumma; Daniel Calabria, Leonardo Bonucci, Alessio Romagnoli, Ricardo Rodriguez; Franck Kessie, Manuel Locatelli, Giacomo Bonaventura; Patrick Cutrone, Nikola Kalinic, Hakan Calhanoglu.
Let's look at the two teams this afternoon, starting with the home side.
Fiorentina will miss out on a Europa League spot, although they cannot drop lower than eighth place in the table. The campaign will be remembered for the tragic death of captain Davide Astori, who passed away in March. Stefano Pioli has kept his side on track admirably in the hardest possible circumstances and they can be very pleased with their efforts over the final 10 weeks of the term.
Gattuso's side have won only two of their last 10 matches, including a home defeat to Benevento along with their hammering at the hands of Juventus in the Coppa Italia final. The Rossoneri need a positive result this afternoon to end their season on a high note.
Milan were within minutes of securing the automatic spot into the Europa League group stage last week when they faced off against Atalanta on the road. However, Andrea Masiello's goal in the 90th minute snatched a point for Gian Piero Gasperini's team, keeping their hopes alive.
It's the final day of the campaign, but the Rossoneri are still battling for a Europa League group stage spot with Atalanta. Gennaro Gattuso's men sit in the final place in sixth, although Atalanta are just one point behind boasting a superior goal difference.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Serie A clash between AC Milan and Fiorentina at the San Siro.
