Commentary

Minute   Description
Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
Tottenham continue their impressive run of form with a 2-1 victory this afternoon. Goals from Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane were enough to hand them the three points, although they were not quite at their best. The Potters are staring the Championship in the face as they suffered their fourth defeat on the bounce. They're now four points adrift of safety, with five matches remaining. Mame Biram Diouf's leveller game them hope, but they struggled for quality in the final third. It's going to take something special to save them.

90'+3 Martins Indi was pulling back Lamela on the charge and goes into the book.
90'+2 Lamela breaks forward before the reaches the feet of Kane from a Sissoko offload. He goes for a stirke at goal, only to see his effort blocked by Pieters.
90' Alli makes way for Sissoko.
There will be six minutes of added time.
88' Stoke have to keep pressing men forward. Time is running out to save themselves this afternoon and in their season.
86' CHANCE! Shawcross latches on to a delivery into the box and heads towards the back post, but his attempt travels agonisingly wide of the target.
85' WIDE! Lamela looks to end the game as he strikes at goal from distance, but his curling effort drifts just wide of the post.
84' Ndiaye breaks into acres of space down the left before releasing Diouf. He has plenty of options to aim for in the box, but he places his pass straight at Vertonghen.
83' Lloris has to deal with a backpass once again, but this time he clears ahead of Shaqiri.
82' Wanyama makes way for Dier.
80' OFF THE BAR!!! Shaqiri blasts his effort over the wall, but it clips the top of the bar and bounces to safety.
79' Aurier is booked for hauling down Diouf.
Aurier pulls down Diouf on the edge of the box, handing Stoke a free-kick in a threatening position.
78' Crouch replaces Johnson for the hosts.
77' SAVE! Aurier pulls the ball back for Kane on the edge of the box. His strike is charged down, although it falls for Alli. However, with space and time, Alli opts to head at goal, directing his effort straight at Butland.
75' Aurier sends a vicious low cross to the back post, but Shawcross does brilliantly to turn it over the bar with Kane lurking behind him.
73' OVER! Eriksen's free-kick clatters into the wall before Aurier goes for the strike from distance, but he smashes his effort well over the bar.
71' Johnson is booked for his challenge.
Johnson brings down Rose right on the edge of the box, handing Spurs a free-kick in a threatening position on the left flank.
69' WIDE! Lloris is all over the place as he comes off his line to clear Shaqiri's corner. He fails to make sufficient contact and Bauer heads towards goal, but his effort drifts just wide of the post, with Alli covering on the line.
Campbell replaces Sobhi for the home side.
68' Shaqiri whips a dangerous cross into the box, which Lloris punches clear. Johnson gathers the loose ball and goes for the strike, only to see his effort deflected over the bar.
67' Lamela replace Son, who has had better days in a Tottenham shirt.
65' Alli and Kane exchange passes in the final third, looking for the run of Son. The ball just has too much pace for the Korean to reach in the right inside channel.
63' GOALLLLLLLLLL!!!!! SPURS REGAIN THE LEAD!!! Kane gets a touch on Eriksen's free-kick and the ball finds the net. The Dane's set-pieces were poor in the first-half. However, this one is a beauty as he curls the ball into the six-yard box. Kane gets the slightest of touches to guide it past Butland. The England man is back on the scoresheet after his injury lay-off.
62' Eriksen is bundled down on the left flank by Bauer, handing the visitors a free-kick.
61' Rose attempts to get the better of Johnson down the flank, but the Stoke full-back makes an inch-perfect challenge.
59' Not the first time Lloris has been overconfident at the back. He could place it anywhere, but he smashes the ball off Diouf's legs. The forward may have to make way here though after receiving treatment.
57' GOALLLLLLLLLL!!!!! DIOUF EQUALISES!!!!!!! A huge moment for Stoke as the forward capitalises on good fortune to find the net. He latches on to Shaqiri's throughball and is in a race with Lloris. The keeper should clear his lines, but he smashes the ball off the Stoke player. The ball bounces kindly for Diouf to sweep it into an empty net. It's come at a price though as he collapses in a heap after scoring.
56' CHANCE! Kane hooks the ball over the top for the Son, who takes the ball in stride. However, Butland and Martins Indi do brilliantly to apply pressure to stop the strike.
54' Stoke need a response here. Spurs have the ability to put them the sword on the counter if they're not careful.
52' Alli breaks into the channel before cutting the ball back for Eriksen to convert.
GOALLLLLLLLLLLL!!!! ERIKSEN PUTS SPURS AHEAD!!!! Tottenham take the lead as Alli cuts the ball back for his team-mate and the Dane makes no mistake rifling a low strike into the net. Alli raided into the right inside channel before finding an unmarked Eriksen. He picked his spot to beat Butland.
51' Spurs are controlling the pace out of the game. However, they need to up the ante in the final third.
49' Rose is caught by Shaqiri late and gives away a free-kick on the left flank. The Stoke man is not happy about the decision.
46' Diouf breaks into the final third immediately and goes for the strike, but he scuffs his effort at Lloris.
We're back underway at the bet365 Stadium.
It's all square at the break between Stoke and Tottenham. Both teams have had one clear-cut opening apiece in the first half. Stoke should have taken the lead when Mame Biram Diouf latched on to Erik Pieters' low cross, only to guide his effort over the bar. Dele Alli released Son Heung-min through on goal, but the winger failed to beat Jack Butland. Tottenham have been the better side, but it remains goalless.
HALF-TIME: STOKE 0-0 TOTTENHAM
45'+2 The referee ends the first half.
45'+1 The set-pieces have not been great in the first half and Shaqiri continues that trend by curling a corner over the heads of everyone in the box and out for a goal-kick.
45' There will be one minute of added time.

38' Aurier looks for the quick ball over the top for Son's run, but Pieters holds his composure to steer his pass back to Butland, who completes the clearance.
36' Stoke have absorbed a lot of pressure in the opening 36 minutes of the game. However, they've enjoyed perhaps the best opening of the game when Diouf fired over.
34' Kane chips a pass forward for Alli's run, but he fails to take his pass under control in the left inside channel.
32' Pieters is booked for his late challenge on Alli.
BLOCK! Alli offloads late on the edge of the box to Aurier, but he gets wiped out in the process. The Ivorian goes for the strike that is turned away by the boot of Martins Indi.
31' Spurs play the ball short and work it around the edge of the box before Alli's low cross is cleared by Martins Indi.
30' Alli runs at Pieters and draws the foul from the Stoke full-back on the right flank. Eriksen will again line up a cross from the set-piece.
28' Sobhi goes down under pressure from Wanyama in the box, but the referee dismisses his appeal for a penalty.
27' BLOCK! Eriksen finds room to break in from the right flank to shoot on his left foot. However, his strike hits a wall of red and white shirts.
26' Ndiaye makes his second good sliding challenge of the game. This time the Stoke man stops Son on his tracks when he appeared ready to offload to Kane on the edge of the box.
25' Tottenham are dominating possession and are always asking questions of the Stoke defence. It's going to be a tough afternoon for the home side.
23' SAVE! Alli releases Son over the top of the Stoke defence. The winger breaks away from Martins Indi and only has Butland to beat. The keeper spreads himself and is able to make a fine block to deny Son.
20' OVER! Eriksen goes for the strike from a tight angle. The Dane gets a decent connection, but the ball sails comfortably over the bar. After his effort against Chelsea, who could blame him for fancying his chances at goal.
19' Sobhi catches Rose with a high boot and it hands Spurs a free-kick in a threatening position on the left flank.
18' Johnson makes a mistake at the back as he mistimes his slide on Alli. It allows the midfielder to break forward, but Bauer gets back to make the covering challenge.
17' Kane goes down under Pieters' challenge. Eriksen takes the free-kick, only to curl his effort straight into the arms of Butland from the right flank.
16' Stoke win a free-kick on the right flank. Shaqiri takes the set-piece, although he launches his cross too deep for his team-mates, sending it out for a goal-kick.
14' Alli almost threads a pass through to Kane in the Stoke half, only to be denied by a good interception from Martins Indi.
13' OVER! Pieters makes an error at the back, misplacing his header to Butland. Eriksen gathers the loose ball and goes for the drive at goal on the half-volley, but he fires well over the bar.
12' CHANCE! Stoke work the ball down the left as Sobhi feeds Pieters on the overlap. The full-back drills a low cross into the box, only for Diouf on the stretch to guide his effort over the bar.
11' Son collects in an advanced position on the left. He tries to weave his way past Martins Indi, but the defender holds firm for the Potters.
10' Shaqiri swings the first corner of the game into the box from the right flank. Lloris comes off his line to gather and does so at the second attempt.
9' Kane breaks into space down the right and fires a ball into the middle, but there are no blue shirts there to attack the cross.
8' Bauer attempts to take the ball in stride down the right flank, but he loses possession under pressure from Rose.
6' Ndiaye makes an important challenge on the edge of the box to stop Dembele after the midfielder turned brilliantly into space.
4' Shawcross sends Alli tumbling to the deck in the middle of the park. Spurs take the free-kick quickly. The visitors want to up the ante early on.
3' It has been a steady start to the game from the visitors, who are dominating the ball at the moment.
1' We're underway in this Premier League clash.
The players are out on the pitch, so we should be underway shortly.
FLASHBACK! Tottenham hammered Stoke 5-1 in their contest at Wembley earlier this season. Kane notched a brace, while Son and Eriksen also got on the scoresheet, with Shawcross conceding an own goal.
Kane returns to lead the line for Tottenham, making his first start since March 11 after recovering from an ankle problem. Lamela drops to the bench to accomodate the forward, while Rose, Aurier and Wanyama also come into the fold as Pochettino rotates his squad.
Stoke are unchanged from their defeat to Arsenal last week as Lambert keeps faith with his starting line-up, despite their late capitulation. Fletcher and Zouma return to the bench to give Lambert options with experience.

The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.
Tottenham all but secured their place in the Champions League next season with their impressive win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last week. Spurs are unbeaten in their last 13 Premier League matches, dropping just six points in the process. The second half of the campaign has again been a strong one for the north London outfit. They will be eyeing a strong performance to leapfrog Liverpool into third place, with four goals separating the sides on goal difference.
Stoke are in a desperate battle at the bottom of the Premier League, with the club currently three points adrift of safety. The margin does not seem great the moment, although the Potters have recorded just one win in their last nine matches. Paul Lambert's men have lost three on the bounce, including their 3-0 defeat to Arsenal last time out.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Stoke and Tottenham at the bet365 Stadium.
