Minute   Description
The win means they just need one more to wrap up the title, and their next league game comes against their bitter rivals in what promises to be a fascinating Manchester derby. It's been the case for several months but City are now incredibly close to becoming the new Premier League champions.
Job done for City, who, bar a few nervy moments when Bolasie pulled a goal back, were barely troubled by their opponents today. They never looked like losing after taking the lead so early on, and from then onwards they were comfortably able to ease their way towards three more points.
FULL-TIME: EVERTON 1-3 MANCHESTER CITY
90'+2 A decent period of play from the home side almost results in a chance on goal for both Niasse and Bolasie, but Coleman's deep cross from the right flank is overhit and fails to find either of them inside the box.
90' The fourth official has indicated that there will be three minutes of added time.
89' Sane initially does well to dispossess Coleman deep down the right wing but ends up running into trouble inside his own penalty area. It allows Niasse to pick up the ball in a dangerous position, but the forward can't do anything with it and concedes a goal-kick before he can shoot.
87' Laporte has been replaced by Danilo in City's final substitution of the game.
86' Walker gets himself into a good position just outside of the box over on the right wing, but he can't quite pick out a team-mate inside the heart of the penalty area and Jagielka does well to clear the danger.
84' What a chance for Niasse! A lovely cross from Walcott curls into the heart of the City penalty area and perfectly picks out Niasse, who sends a bullet header straight into the hands of Ederson just as the linesman's flag is raised.
82' Sane manages to carve out a pocket of space for himself deep inside the Everton half of the pitch and tries to play a quick one-two with Silva, but his pass towards the Spaniard is slightly mishit and the home side are easily able to hold on.
80' A lofted cross-field pass from Keane flies up to the edge of the City penalty area and picks out Walcott. The winger quickly tries to nod the ball down to the onrushing Coleman, but he can't quite find the full-back and the ball bounces out for a goal-kick.
79' And now Niasse has come on to replace Tosun up front for the home side.
77' City have made their second switch, with De Bruyne making way for Gundogan.
76' A poor attempted clearance from Pickford sails straight to Bernardo Silva, but luckily for the goalkeeper the Portuguese's first touch is poor and he ends up fouling Schneiderlin while stretching for the ball before he can get a shot away.
75' Baningime has come on to replace Calvert-Lewin in Everton's second alteration of the game.
74' Fernandinho goes close! Nobody closes down the Brazilian midfielder and allows him to shoot from 25 yards out. His strike is a thumping one and causes Pickford a moment of panic, but it ends up sailing a yard or so over the top of the crossbar.
72' More patient play from the visitors almost results in a chance on goal, but Walker's low cross in from the right-hand side of the penalty area is well read by Keane and cut out by the centre-back.
70' City patiently pass the ball around deep inside the hosts' half of the pitch before Fernandinho eventually tries to pick out Sane inside the box. The German initially manages to keep the ball in play but loses his footing and sends it behind for a goal-kick.
68' City have looked slightly lacklustre since the half-time break, and it's presented Everton with a way back into the game. Their goal has made the visitors look slightly nervous, and they certainly need a fourth goal if they're to avoid suffering a nervy end to the evening.
66' Everton win the ball back once again and do well to earn themselves a corner. It's sent in deep and picks out Tosun, who reaches the corner at the far post but can't quite hit the target with his glancing header.
64' City have made their first change of the evening, with Bernardo Silva coming on to take the place of Sterling.
63' It was Calvert-Lewin who poked the ball over to Bolasie under very little pressure, something that Guardiola won't be at all happy about. It's been a relatively comfortable game for the league leaders but they've been given something to worry about now...
GOAL! Everton pull one back! The home side keep pushing forward and work the ball over to Bolasie, who shoots from 20 yards out and manages to find the back of the net via the inside of the near post. Will that prove to be the start of an almighty comeback?
62' Davies breaks down the right wing and gets himself into a good position on the edge of the City penalty area. He then tries to play a quick one-two with Calvert-Lewin, but he goes down under pressure inside the box and can't quite reach the ball.
60' Jesus goes close to making it 4-0! A lovely pass from Fernandinho splits the Everton defence in two and perfectly picks out Jesus in front of goal. The striker quickly shoots, but his low effort rolls past the far post before the linesman's flag is correctly raised for offside.
58' A rare piece of poor play from City inside their own half of the pitch almost results in a chance on goal for Tosun, but the Turkish striker can't take advantage of the mistake and Otamendi manages to quickly win the ball back for the league leaders.
57' Everton have made their first substitution of the game, with Rooney making way for Davies.
56' Great strike by Fernandinho! The midfielder is left in a pocket of space and quickly shoots from 25 yards out, but Pickford does well to quickly get down low and push the effort round the far post.
54' Clever play between Fernandinho, Sterling and Silva looks as if it's going to result in a chance on goal for the Brazilian, but a slightly overhit pass from Silva instead sends the ball into the hands of Pickford.
52' A wonderful pass from Silva flies over to the far post and picks out Sane. The German quickly tries to knock the ball back to the onrushing Jesus, but he can't quite find the Brazilian in front of goal.
50' Sterling twists and turns as he tries to weave his way towards the Everton box, but Schneiderlin is just about able to dispossess the winger before immediately giving the ball away with a poor attempted pass.
48' Tosun, who has struggled to get into the game today, muscles his wau down the right wing and wins his side a corner. It's fired in by Rooney and flies towards Keane, who rises high but can't quite get a head on the ball.
46' We're underway once again!
The two teams are making their way back out on to the pitch ahead of the start of the second half. Neither side have made any substitutions during the half-time break.
As many expected, it's been a walk in the park for City so far. The champions-elect have barely had to break a sweat and yet already have all three points safely wrapped up. They've dazzled going forward and have been presented with very few problems at the back, where Everton are struggling to carve out any half-decent chances on goal.
HALF-TIME: EVERTON 0-3 MANCHESTER CITY
45'+1 Everton push forward on one final attack before the half-time break, but Coleman's curling cross into the penalty area fails to find a team-mate and is easily cleared by the visitors.
45' The fourth official has indicated that there will be just one minute of added time.
43' A poor attempted clearance from Schneiderlin sends the ball straight to Laporte, who then crosses it to Jesus at the far post. The Brazilian has a great chance to shoot, but he doesn't do so quickly enough and is dispossessed before he can pull the trigger.
41' Walker makes a clever run down the right flank and tries to latch onto a chipped pass from De Bruyne, but Baines does well to read the flight of the ball and is there to meet it ahead of the onrushing City full-back.
39' Sane breaks down the left wing on a determined run but he has to settle for a corner after being dealt with well by Coleman. The set-piece is sent short and worked over to De Bruyne, who shoots from the edge of the penalty area but sends a deflected strike behind for yet another corner.
37' The Everton players aren't at all happy, as they believe Silva received the ball in an offside position. The flag wasn't raised, however, and the Spaniard's cross over to Sterling was an inch-perfect one.
GOAL! Sterling makes it 3-0! Silva is left in acres of space over on the left flank, allowing him to pick up possession completely unmarked. He then charges towards the box and crosses to Sterling, who is easily able to slot the ball into the back of the net at the far post.
35' City lose possession inside the Everton half of the pitch and allow the hosts to quickly counter-attack, but Keane's cross-field pass fails to pick out Walcott deep down the right flank and bounces out for a throw-in.
33' De Bruyne's cross from the set-piece is a poor one but City patiently come back once again. Sterling breaks forward once again before teeing up Silva, who shoots from the edge of the penalty area and fires a low strike a couple of yards wide of the far post.
31' De Bruyne is caught late by Bolasie, resulting in a free-kick that's taken quickly. It's worked up to Sterling, who bursts towards the box and fires a deflected 29-yard strike behind for a corner.
29' Sterling manages to find some space in between the lines and quickly tries to poke a pass through to Jesus, but he lets himself down with a poor first touch and the home side are just about able to hold on once again.
27' City hold onto the ball for what feels like an age as they comfortably pass the ball around inside the Everton half of the pitch. Laporte eventually breaks into the box and fires a pass over to Sterling, who shoots but sends a scuffed effort high over the crossbar.
25' Frustration is understandably starting to be heard from the home fans. Everton have been presented with a few good chances to counter-attack, but they seem reluctant to push too many bodies forward and are failing to make the opportunities count.
23' Space opens up for Calvert-Lewin over on the left wing and allows him to burst into the box and try and pick out Tosun, but his pass towards the Turkey international is poor and easily dealt with by Fernandinho.
22' Almost a third goal for City! A corner is fired in low by De Bruyne and picks out Otamendi, who quickly shoots and sends a thumping half-volley narrowly wide of the near post.
21' And now Walker goes close! More great play by City looks as if it's going to result in a third goal after Walker is set up by Sane, but the defender's first-time shot is poor and scuffs well wide.
19' Decent chance for Baines! Walcott is clumsily caught by Laporte, leaving the referee with no choice but to award Everton a free-kick just outside of the City penalty area. It's Baines who steps up and shoots, and his effort doesn't miss the goal by much.
17' Sterling goes close! The first corner quickly results in a second, which is worked out to Sterling. The winger immediately shoots from 25 yards out, and his low effort bounces just a yard or so wide of the far post.
16' Silva is left all alone inside the Everton box once again and manages to get a shot away, but a slight deflection sends it just wide of the near post and into the side-netting before it can trouble Pickford.
14' Tosun is clumsily brought down by Walker, and Everton are awarded another free-kick in a dangerous position out wide. Baines' cross is a poor one, though, and it curls straight into the hands of Ederson.
12' Everton were caught with far too few bodies back, but once again City were devastatingly effective, with De Bruyne's pass perfectly putting the ball on a plate for Jesus.
GOAL! It's another for City! The visitors immediately fly forward from the restart and catch Everton horribly open at the break. De Bruyne charges into the penalty area and crosses to Jesus, who is completely unmarked and easily beats Pickford from close range.
11' What a chance for Bolasie to equalise! Calvert-Lewin breaks down the right flank and chips a lovely cross into the heart of the box. Bolasie rises high above Walker and gets his head to the ball, but he sends it looping over the top of the crossbar.
10' Sane is penalised for handling the ball over on the right wing, resulting in a free-kick for Everton in a decent position. Rooney steps up and crosses into the penalty area, but Jagielka can't hit the target with his off-balance header.
8' The visitors patiently pass the ball around inside their own half of the pitch as they try to find a way forward once again. This time it's Laporte who attempts to pick out Walker with a cross-field pass, but it's overhit by the defender and bounces out for a goal-kick.
6' City come back once again after quickly winning the ball back from the restart, but Silva isn't able to curl a cross into the box from the left wing and has to settle for a throw-in instead.
4' Silva made a great run into the box to link up nicely with Laporte, but Everton were poor defensively and were made to pay for their errors. They didn't put enough pressure on their opponents during the build-up, and nobody followed Silva into the penalty area.
GOAL! City lead! A clever pass from Laporte penetrates the penalty area and picks out Silva. The Spaniard heads to the byline and sends the ball over to Sane, who thumps a brilliant strike past Pickford and into the back of the net.
3' It's City who start the game on the front foot and quickly put the Everton back line under pressure. Sane does well to win a corner after sprinting down the left wing, but the league leaders can't quite carve out a chance on goal.
1' We're off! Everton get us underway, attacking from left to right.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
Sergio Aguero isn’t yet ready to return to action after a period out injured, so Guardiola has decided to name young striker Nmecha on the bench for the second time this season.
Meanwhile, City boss Pep Guardiola has made just one alteration to the team that featured in their last outing, with Zinchenko making way for Laporte, who looks as if he’s going to feature at left-back.
There’s also a place on the substitutes’ bench for defender Funes Mori, who hasn’t featured for the senior side in over a year due to a nasty knee injury.
Sam Allardyce has decided to make two changes to the Everton side that started the victory away to Stoke City two weeks ago, with Schneiderlin and Calvert-Lewin coming into the starting line-up to replace Idrissa Gueye and Davies, respectively.
Manchester City substitutes: Claudio Bravo, Tosin Adarabioyo, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Danilo, Ilkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva, Lukas Nmecha.
Manchester City XI (4-3-3): Ederson; Kyle Walker, Nicolas Otamendi, Vincent Kompany, Aymeric Laporte; Kevin De Bruyne, Fernandinho, David Silva; Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, Leroy Sane.
Everton substitutes: Joel Robles, Ramiro Funes Mori, Cuco Martina, Beni Baningime, Tom Davies, Nikola Vlasic, Oumar Niasse.
Everton XI (4-2-3-1): Jordan Pickford; Seamus Coleman, Michael Keane, Phil Jagielka, Leighton Baines; Wayne Rooney, Morgan Schneiderlin; Theo Walcott, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Yannick Bolasie; Cenk Tosun.
There’s just over 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up today…
The two sides may be separated by a whopping 41 points but it’s Everton who most recently enjoyed success in this tie. They surprised everyone by winning 4-0 in last season’s corresponding fixture, with City only managing to come away victorious on one occasion since their last title-winning season.
They’ve wobbled on a few occasions but, by and large, Sam Allardyce has done a decent job at steadying the ship after taking over from Ronald Koeman. Everton have done particularly well at home in recent months, where only Manchester United have managed to leave with maximum points since Arsenal won back in October.
Despite it being largely a season to forget for Everton, they remain in with a chance on qualifying for the Europa League if they enjoy a decent end to the campaign. Six points currently separate themselves and seventh-place Burnley, and they head into today’s clash with back-to-back wins under their belts.
City’s dominance of the league this season has been relentless, and a first Premier League title in four years has been as good as theirs for several months now. An excellent campaign means that, even if they lose today, they’re still set to win the league in record-breaking style.
With the Premier League title as good as wrapped up, it’s understandable that City will have one eye on next weekend’s big derby clash. A victory today would hand them the opportunity to claim the crown at home to their biggest rivals, an opportunity that no one involved with the club would want to pass up.
Good afternoon and welcome to our live coverage of today’s Premier League game between Everton and Manchester City at Goodison Park.
