Minute   Description
And there goes the final whistle! Ryan's first-half double-save proved to be the highlight of a match where two rivals cancelled each other out. There were half-chances for both sides, but a lack of composure and final-third quality means that this fast-paced affair ends goalless at the AMEX. It's Crystal Palace's first clean sheet of the season, and they avoid setting an unwanted record of nine away games lost without scoring in the Premier League.
90'+3 NO PENALTY! Duffy tussles with Sakho in the box from a free-kick and hits the deck. Brighton appeal wildly for a penalty, but the referee points for a goal kick. That should be that.
90'+2 CHANCE! Palace get one last chance to loft the ball into the box from a free-kick late on. They win a throw from it, which is cleared away to Tomkins, who hits a dipping volley wide!
90'+1 Knocaert knocks a free-kick forward, but Hennessey is out to claim the high ball.
88' CHANCE! Zaha sparks a neat counter as he spins away from two, before playing it into Benteke. The striker lays off Loftus-Cheek, who goes it alone and smashes one at goal. However, it's too straight and Ryan is relatively untroubled.
85' Murray is denied the chance to score against his former employers in the last five minutes of normal time as he is replaced by Hemed up front.
83' CHANCE! Murray's header from a corner is blocked on the line by Townsend. It was a thumping effort, as the big striker nearly scored against his former club!
82' Chelsea loanee Brown comes on for Groß in a like-for-like swap. The youngster impressed on loan at Huddersfield last season, and Hughton will hope he can make an impact here.
80' Suttner's powerful cross is cleared and Palace break through Loftus-Cheek, who makes a strong, driving run through midfield, before giving it to Townsend out wide. He lays off Zaha, but he goes a little wide before shooting, and he can't find the target.
76' Neither side quite able to create anything clear-cut at the moment. One goal could make the difference tonight.
72' CHANCE! Stephens takes a couple of touches on the left before hammering a low effort towards the near post from outside the box that just whistles wide!
71' March - who started against Manchester United, comes off the bench on the left for Izquierdo. He's a different proposition, looking to get down the left and cross more rather than cutting inside.
70' CHANCE! Brighton up the tmepo down the right and cause Palace some problems as they win a corner. The defence - and Hennessey in particular - look nervous defending these, and Duffy heads just over.
69' Zaha whips the ball in low after Schlupp cuts it back, but Benteke was looking for an aerial ball and doesn't gamble.
66' Cabaye is replaced by McArthur as Hodgson tries to inject fresh energy into midfield.
Dunk is then very lucky not to get a second yellow for another foul on Zaha, this time a push rather than a pull. In fact, the referee doesn't even give a foul!
65' Zaha spins away from Dunk and draws a foul, earning the Brighton man a yellow card.
64' Palace defend resolutely in their own half, and Brighton are forced all the way back in order to keep the ball.
62' Izqueirdo shoves Zaha off the ball after the Ivory Coast international gets there first. He's lucky not to see a second yellow there, as the Palace man was breaking clear!
60' Izqueirdo tries to find Gross as Brighton counter from the corner, but his pass is overhit and the German can't quite get there.
59' A clunky run from Loftus-Cheek somehow ends in a Palace corner, which is lofted in just as a firework goes off. It's headed away to Loftus-Cheek again, whose long-range effort is headed behind for another corner.
56' CHANCE! Brighton win a succession of corners before Dunk tries to back-heel flick a near-post delivery at goal, and just finds the side-netting! Clever attempt from the centre-half.
55' Knockaert curls a free-kick in after being hacked down and Hennessey just gets fingertips to the ball to get it behind for a corner.
54' Hennessey has to be very alert as Propper plays a raking ball forward into the path of Knockaert, coming off his line quickly to clear on the edge of his box.
52' Bruno somehow gets away without a yellow card as he shoves Zaha to the floor after the Palace man had skipped round him.
51' A nice Palace attack breaks down as Townsend knocks his cross miles too long from Zaha's flick after Cabaye had surged forward.
48' Izquierdo picks up a yellow card.
47' Gross floats in a free-kick from the left, but the flick on sees the offside flag raised.
46' Brighton kick us off at the start of the second half!
And the first half comes to a close! It's 0-0 at the break, and Palace have perhaps just edged the first 45 minutes. The visitors certainly had the highlight chance of the half, when Hennessey's long ball saw Benteke and then Zaha pull an outstanding double-save out of Brighton keeper Ryan. Brighton saw decent spells of possession, and tested Hennessey with efforts of their own, as Dunk, Izqueirdo, and Gross all had chances, but the Palace stopper kept them all out. However, with this kind of rivarly between the sides, don't rule out an explosive second half!
45'+2 That looks like being it for the first half.
45' Sakho does really well to get to a through-ball ahead of Knockaert and puts it out for a throw-in.
44' Brighton push forward and pile some pressure on, before Palace have a little go of their own. Both sides lacking a little composure in the final third though.
38' CHANCE! A quick counter-attack sees Knockaert end up with the ball on the right. He jinks in and lays Gross off on the edge of the box, and his driven effort is held well by Hennessey.
36' Stephens finds Murray really well with a delightful cross-field ball, but the veteran striker can't produce the same quality in his pass into the middle and Palace clear away.
34' Milivojevic Plays a lovely ball into the box for Benteke. He tries to knock it down for a team-mate, but the support is just a few yards behind and Brighton can clear.
32' A few sloppy passes from both sides give possession away in midfield. Both sides huffing and puffing without quite managing that final ball in the last few minutes.
29' Knockaert gives away a free-kick for a foul on Townsend. He's quite literally hopping mad about the decision, but it was a clear foul.
27' CHANCE! Brighton get a foothold in the game, and Izqueirdo skips inside and curls a powerful shot that Hennessey beats away, before Stephens skies the rebound from the edge of the box on his weaker left foot.
23' Townsend delivers his first good cross of the game, but Benteke gets caught under it and Brighton clear as far as Cabaye. Izqueirdo gets back in time to put the Frenchman off.
21' CHANCE! Brighton win a corner after a poor ball from Knockaert gives Bruno a lot to do, but his cross comes back off a Palace player and goes out. The subsequent corner fidns the head of the unmarkes Dunk, but Hennessey gets there and hangs on! Poor marking though.
18' Zaha zips down the right, and is maybe unlucky not to win a penalty as he's ushered to the ground as he reaches the byline. Palace are in the ascendancy at the moment.
17' A few bangs can be heard as fireworks go off in the stands behind the goal. There's some smoke in the stadium, but nothing to inhibit the game.
14' CHANCE! That is an incredible double-save by Ryan! A Hennessey goal-kick is flicked on by Benteke, and subsequently flicked back to him by Zaha. The Belgian shoots low, and Ryan makes a solid stop, but he shows incredible reflexes to throw himself in the way of Zaha's follow-up from close-range!
13' Knockaert gets his first chance to run at Schlupp, before playing a reverse ball into the overlapping Bruno. Palace stand firm though, and eventually win a goal-kick off of the right-back.
11' Loftus-Cheek leads a break down the right well and shows great strength up against Suttner and Izquierdo, eventually drawing a foul and earning his side a free-kick.
9' There have been a couple of feisty challenges so far and few runs from Zaha, but no noteworthy chances as of yet. Palace are definitely looking to hit Brighton on the break though, as the home side use their trademark diagonal balls to unsettle the visiting defence.
5' Zaha appears to have been given a relatively free role, popping up on both flanks and through the middle. He'll be looking to cause problems right across the forward line, while Townsend and Loftus-Cheek chop and change around him, filling the gaps he leaves.
3' Zaha drives down the left flank and fires a low ball into the middle that Brighton scramble clear. He's certainly the danger man for the visitors tonight.
1' And we're off! Crystal Palace get us underway.
Crystal Palace make just one change - but it is a notable one. They welcome striker Christian Benteke back into the fold to finally put an end to their striker crisis - allowing Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend to return to their natural wide positions. Midfielder James McArthur makes way.
Chris Hughton has made two changes to the starting XI that lost narrowly to Manchester United - both on the left flank. Left-back Markus Suttner replaces Gaetan Bong, while Jose Izquierdo takes Solly March's place on the left wing.
Brighton were unfortunate to be beaten 1-0 by Manchester United last time out - a defeat which actually ended a five-game unbeaten streak in the league. Their last loss was on October 1, when they were beaten 2-0 at the Emirates by Arsenal. They are also unbeaten at home in five successive home games - their last loss at the AMEX Stadium was by a 2-0 scoreline to runaway leaders Manchester City the on opening day of the season. The visitors' talisman - Wilfired Zaha - will hope to end that run, having scored three in three at the ground for Palace.
Having said that, Palace have lost without scoring in eight successive Premier League away matches. A loss tonight will set a new top-flight record for games lost without scoring. It has not been for the want of trying, though. In this run, the Eagles have attempted 70 shots across 17 different players.
However, history is on Palace's side, as they have won six of the last 11 meetings between the two (W6 D3 L2), including a victory in the Championship play-off semi-finals in 2013 - the year the Eagles were promoted. Additionally, Palace have kept a clean sheet in three of their last four games against Brighton in all competitions, with Julian Speroni - on the bench today - in goal each time.
Newly-promoted Brighton come into this clash between local rivals - their first in the top-flight since 1981 - in the top half of the table, in stark contrast to their more experienced Premier League counterparts, who are still rooted to the foot of the table. The Seagulls are unbeaten in their last four top-flight meetings with Crystal Palace (W3 D1).
