Minute   Description
Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
Manchester City come from behind to earn their 18th win on the bounce in all competitions. A strike from Sergio Aguero from the penalty spot and a fortunate effort from Raheem Sterling guided Pep Guardiola's men to the win that takes them eight points clear at the top of the Premier League. Huddersfield battled well this afternoon and can be proud of their efforts, especially after going ahead through Nicolas Otamendi's own goal. However, the pressure of the waves of City attacks proved to be too much for them to handle in the second half.
Drama after the full-time whistle as Van La Parra is sent off for the Terriers for raising his hands to Sane's face. The German gets a booking for his part in the incident.
90'+6 Red card Rajiv van La Parra
Yellow card Leroy Sané
90'+5 The referee ends the contest.
Sterling takes the ball into the corner and draws the foul from Lowe. The free-kick should allow City to see out the win in the final third.
90'+4 Mounie collides with Otamendi and the referee awards a free-kick to the visitors. That will allow City to take further time away from the Terriers.
90'+2 Sterling takes valuable time off the clock with a run to the corner. Huddersfield have got to get the ball forward.
90' There will be five minutes of added time.
89' Mangala replaces Silva as City bolster their backline for the closing stages.
88' WIDE! Mooy takes the set-piece and he gets a good strike on the ball, but it clips the side-netting and heads wide of the target.
87' Silva goes into the book.
Silva gives away a free-kick 25 yards from goal as he brings down Mounie. Mooy will line up the resulting free-kick.
86' Mounie almost makes an instant impact from the bench, but the ball just does not fall for him in the penalty area from a long ball forward.
Mounie comes on for Hogg.
Gundogan replaces Aguero for the visitors.
84' GOALLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!! STERLING BUNDLES THE BALL HOME! City take the lead for the first time this afternoon. De Bruyne's pass opens up the Huddersfield defence as Jesus latches on to the pass. The Brazilian's low effort is saved by Lossl, but the rebound strikes Sterling on the leg and bounces into the back of the net. Heartbreak for the Terries, but delight for Guardiola's men.
83' Smith hangs a looping cross into the middle for Depoitre to head on. Quaner and Ederson race for the ball, but the keeper gets there ahead of the Huddersfield man.
82' Quaner gets in the action immediately as he wins possession down the right and buys a corner off the legs of Delph.
81' Silva goes for the reverse pass inside the left channel for Sane, but the ball goes out of play for a goal-kick. The Spaniard's not had success with that pass in the second half.
Quaner replaces Ince for the home side.
80' Kompany makes way for Jesus.
77' City are probing in the Huddersfield half, but are struggling to make meaningul penetration at the moment. The Terriers are holding firm.
75' Depoitre has fed off little today, but he continues to make good runs and almost surges into the box. However, just as he is about to make the final break Kompany slides in to win back possession.
74' With Malone booked, Wagner replaces his full-back with another as Lowe replaces him on the left flank.
72' Huddersfield are holding their shape and have managed to fend off the City onslaught for now.
70' City press down the right and De Bruyne slides a throughball for Silva's run into the inside channel. He turns and tries to fire at goal, but Lossl makes a confident grab at the near post.
68' Silva looks for Sane's run in the left inside channel, but for once the German does not make the run and the ball goes straight out for a goal-kick.
66' De Bruyne blocks off Van La Parra and Huddersfield are awarded a free-kick, but there's no booking for the Belgian. The home fans and Wagner are furious with the official.
65' The contest is just reaching a boiling point as the home fans are not happy with the referee about the penalty decision. Those emotions are spreading on to the pitch. Huddersfield cannot afford to lose their discipline.
64' Malone chops down De Bruyne and he goes into the book.
63' Fernandinho is booked for diving.
Fernandinho drives towards the edge of the box and goes down in a heap as Van La Parra attempts to make the challenge. What will the referee do here?
60' Van La Parra is down after losing out in a strong challenge with Walker and may have to go off here due to injury.
59' Walker fires a low cross towards the near post, but Schindler is there to divert the ball away from Aguero.
57' OFF THE BAR! Sane hammers his effort at goal and it sails over the wall and towards the target, but it clatters off the crossbar and bounces clear. Lossl had given up on that one.
56' Hogg goes into the book for his challenge on Silva.
City win a free-kick in a threatening position as Silva is brought down 25 yards from goal by Hogg. Sane stands over the ball, waiting to take the free-kick.
55' OVER! Silva collects on the edge of the box and he goes for the strike, only to blaze his effort well over the bar.
53' City are moving the ball at will in the final third. Huddersfield are dropping deeper and deeper inside their own half. They're encamped on the edge of their penalty area at the moment.
51' SAVE! Lossl denies Aguero after Fernandinho released the forward's run in the box, but his poked effort was not enough to beat the Huddersfield keeper.
49' Sterling has made an excellent start to the half and is asking a lot of tough questions of Malone down the flank.
47' GOALLLLLLLLL!!!!! AGUERO CONVERTS! The Argentine holds his nerve from the spot and strokes his effort into the bottom corner, sending Lossl the wrong way.
PENALTY TO CITY! Sterling is brought down again and this time the referee points to the spot as Malone pulls him back in the area.
46' PENALTY SHOUT! De Bruyne releases Sterling inside the box and he tries to beat the challenge of Lossl, but the keeper knocks the ball away from the winger, sending him to the ground in the process. However, the referee dismisses his appeal for a penalty.
We're back underway at John Smith's Stadium.
Huddersfield take a 1-0 lead into the break against Manchester City in the hope of ending Pep Guardiola's run of 17-straight wins in all competitions. The Terriers have defended well at the back and have been aided by poor finishing from City, with Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling and Fernandinho all guilty of spurning chances. David Wagner's men made them pay for their miscues in front of the net as Tom Ince's corner was deflected into his own net by Nicolas Otamendi on the stroke of half-time.
45'+1 The referee ends the first half.
GOALLLLLLLLL!!!!!!! HUDDERSFIELD TAKE THE LEAD! The Terriers are ahead as Ince's corner deflects off Otamendi's shoulder and beats Ederson to find the net. Schindler provided the pressure and may have got a flick to force the ball on to the Argentine and the pace was enough to find the bottom corner. What a moment for Huddersfield.
CLOSE! Ince sends the ball into the box and Kompany rises to clear. However, he heads the ball back towards his own goal, but fortunately for him it goes over the bar.
45' Depoitre carries the ball forward before sending Ince behind Delph into the inside right channel. He tries to send a low cross into the box, but Otamendi diverts the ball behind.
43' OVER! Walker releases Sterling down the right and he cuts the ball back into the box. Fernandinho latches on to the ball, only to blast his effort over the bar. City's finishing has not been great thus far.
41' CHANCE! Mooy lifts a dangerous cross into the box and Schindler wins the flick-on at the near post. The ball travels at speed to Jorgensen and he sticks out a boot to direct the ball at goal, but not enough to hit the target.
40' Sane catches Williams with a stray arm and gives away a free-kick to the home side in the final third.
38' SAVE & WIDE! Silva flicks the ball around the corner for Aguero, who drives at goal. Lossl makes a good save to deny the Argentine, but Sterling pounces on the rebound. He has an opening at goal, but slices his strike wide of the post.
37' CLOSE! Otamendi pushes forward and links up with Aguero in attack. The defender collects the lay-off from his team-mate before rifling an effort towards the net. However, his effort just sails over the bar, with Lossl beaten.
34' Silva and De Bruyne combine on the edge of the box before the former releases the Argentine inside, only for Schindler to deny the striker with an excellent last-ditch challenge. The tackle from the German saved a certain goal there.
33' Schindler tracks the run of Silva into the box and he does enough to stop his cross from reaching Aguero in the middle. However, City have another corner on the right flank.
32' City probe on the edge of the box, but Williams makes an important intervention to stop the progress of De Bruyne before he can shoot.
30' Depoitre seizes possession as he capitalises on a mistake from Otamendi. He tries to beat the challenge of Kompany, but the Belgian wins the ball and clears his lines for the visitors.
28' De Bruyne almost forces the ball into the feet of Aguero at the near post, but Lossl does enough to smother the ball ahead of the Argentine.
26' Huddersfield have been called on to do a lot of defending in the opening quarter of the match, but Wagner's men have performed well thus far at the back.
24' WIDE! De Bruyne lifts a ball over the top of the Huddersfield defence, but Jorgensen clears with his head. Aguero latches on to the loose ball and tries a first-time effort on the half-volley, only to scuff his strike wide of the post.
23' CLOSE! Sane breaks into the left inside channel as he latches on to Silva's pass. He fires the ball across the face of goal, but there's no black shirt in the middle to convert the opening.
21' So far so good for the home side, but City can flick that switch at any time to open teams up at the back.
19' Delph is fortunate to escape a booking as he catches Ince late on the counter. The deep position of the Huddersfield winger may have saved the left-back.
18' Sterling test the Terriers' defences on the flank and he wins another corner as Van La Parra stabs the ball behind for a corner.
17' Ince releases the run of Smith down the right on the counter and he cuts back inside to shoot on his left foot, only to blaze his effort over the bar.
16' Sterling goes on the surge down the right and he wins a corner as Malone has to clear behind.
15' De Bruyne fires a low ball into the box looking for the run of Aguero, but Schindler is there to clear the danger.
14' Huddersfield cannot break out of their own half as wave after wave of pressure from Guardiola's men has them pinned deep.
12' OFFSIDE! Aguero latches on to De Bruyne's pass from a free-kick and converts a low strike past Lossl, but the flag is correctly raised for offside against the Argentine.
9' The visitors are already moving the ball with ease around the pitch, putting the Terriers under pressure at the back. The home side have to hold their discipline.
7' WIDE! Kompany rises highest in the box to head De Bruyne's cross at goal, but the Belgian can only direct his header wide of the post.
6' City put the pressure on in the early stages and Sane lifts a corner into the box that forces Malone to turn the ball behind for a second set-piece.
4' Silva gets in behind the Huddersfield defence, but the lofted pass over the top of Otamendi goes astray.
2' Sterling attempts to latch on to a long ball over the top from Otamendi, but the ball skips off the surface and goes out for a goal-kick.
1' We're under at John Smith's Stadium.
The players are out on the pitch, so we should be underway shortly.
STAT ATTACK! Manchester City beat Huddersfield 10-1 in a league match in November 1987 – to date, it’s the last time a club has scored 10+ goals in an English league match.
FLASHBACK! Huddersfield held City to a goalless draw in an FA Cup fifth round tie at the John Smith’s Stadium last season, before losing the replay 5-1 at the Etihad.
Guardiola has made five changes from the side that beat Feyenoord during the week. Fabian Delph and Vincent Kompany come into the back four, while David Silva and Fernandinho return to the middle of the park. Leroy Sane joins Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero as part of the front three.
Huddersfield have made three changes from their defeat to Bournemouth last time out. Christopher Schindler comes back into the fold after serving his suspension, while Tommy Smith and Jonathan Hogg also get the nod to start this afternoon.
City subs: Bravo, Danilo, Gundogan, Mangala, Bernardo Silva, Jesus, Zinchenko.
CITY (4-3-3): Ederson; Walker, Otamendi, Kompany, Delph; De Bruyne, Fernandinho, Silva; Sterling, Aguero, Sane.
Huddersfield subs: Kachunga, Cranie, Lowe, Quaner, Mounie, Green, Hadergjonaj.

The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.
Manchester City have won their last 10 Premier League matches on the bounce and have dropped just two points all season. Their only failure to win came against Everton in the second week of the campaign. Since then Pep Guardiola's men have been unstoppable, holding a five-point lead at the top of the table.
Huddersfield's inconsistent form this season reared its head last week as the Terriers were hammered 4-0 by Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. David Wagner's men are still performing well this season and are sitting just below the top half of the table, but they cannot afford to enter a slump that could knock them off course. They face one of their biggest challenges this afternoon, although they did beat Manchester United on their visit in October.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Huddersfield Town and Mancheser City at John Smith's Stadium.
