Commentary

Minute   Description
Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
West Ham were woeful for the majority of this contest, although they might have been unfortunate to concede the opening goal. However, there was no excuse for their poor defending, leading to a humiliating defeat on home soil.
Manchester City hammer West Ham this evening to advance to the fourth round of the FA Cup. Pep Guardiola's men were outstanding and put the Hammers to the sword with relative ease. The Spaniard will be hopeful this is the start of a strong second half of the season for his team.
FULL-TIME: WEST HAM UNITED 0-5 MANCHESTER CITY
90' The referee takes mercy on West Ham and blows the full-time whistle.
88' City keep the pressure on and almost force a sixth, but Reid is on hand to make an important block from Nolito's strike on the edge of the box.
86' SAVE! Aguero breaks in behind the West Ham defence and has Sterling in the middle, but he goes himself for the strike. However, Adrian beats his effort away and his team-mate screams in frustration.
84' GOAL!!!!!! STONES FINDS THE NET! Nolito whips his corner in with pace and Stones makes a good run to get across his man to power a header towards the bottom corner. Noble sticks out a leg to clear it away, but the goalline techology reveals the ball has crossed for Stones to notch his goal.
Nolito fires a good delivery into the box for Stones to attack and he notches an assist as the defender scores.
83' Aguero almost breaks in behind the West Ham defence to notch a fifth, but Adrian does not to stop the strike. However, City keep the pressure on by winning a corner.
80' City are in complete control at the moment and simply knocking the ball around the pitch with ease. West Ham have given up here.
78' Toure is the man to make way after a delay. Guardiola waited until he got the ok from Sagna before replacing the Ivorian with Delph.
Nolito turns down the opportunity to shoot from the edge of the box, instead playing a pass into the feet of Aguero, but the Argentine loses possession.
76' There's a slight delay in play as Sagna receives treatment for a head injury.
74' No! Payet floats the ball into the box, but no West Ham player is on the same wavelength and it heads out for a goal-kick.
73' Payet shows a burst of pace through the middle, but gets hauled down by Zabaleta. Can West Ham force an opening from the resulting free-kick?
72' Fletcher replaces Antonio for the Hammers.
70' City are knocking the ball around the pitch as their leisure and there's not a great deal West Ham can do to stop them. Guardiola will be delighted with their display this evening.
68' Guardiola withdraws De Bruyne from the action and replaces him with Garcia.
67' There's no pace to this game at all now, with City almost at walking pace. There's more goals in the contest for the visitors if they want.
65' Sterling almost weaves his way past three West Ham defenders, including Nordtveit. He knocks the ball past the Norwegian, who gives him a slight nudge to the ground to stop his progress, but referee Oliver waves play on.
62' CHANCE! Feghouli lifts a dangerous cross into the box from the right and Antonio and Otamendi battle for it. The Argentine ends up heading the ball narrowly wide of his own post under pressure from the West Ham forward.
61' With his strike this evening Aguero has passed Colin Bell to move into third in City's all-time leading goalscorers list.
60' The tempo of the game has dropped completely. City know they have this game in the bag as long as they don't do anything silly at the back.
58' Noble replaces Lanzini for the home side.
Payet makes his way on to the pitch in place of Carroll.
Silva makes way after an impressive display to be replaced by Nolito.
55' Sterling almost creates space to strike on the edge of the box, but a last-dtich effort from Obiang and Ogbonna prevent the shot.
53' West Ham are all over the place at the back and City drift through their lines with ease. De Bruyne lines up a shot, but his effort is blocked and the home side scramble the ball away.
50' Toure collects on the edge of the box and although he doesn't catch all of the ball, his strike still travels towards the net where Aguero converts.
GOALLL! AGUERO GETS HIS GOAL! Aguero has been threatening and now he gets on the scoresheet. The Argentine is in the right place at the right time as he sticks out a leg to divert Toure's shot at goal beyond the reach of Adrian. Game over!
49' CHANCE! Stones heads De Bruyne's corner at goal, but Adrian makes a fine save. Aguero gathers on the rebound and strikes at goal, only for the Spaniard to turn his effort over the bar.
47' City push forward in numbers again and Zabaleta strikes from the edge of the box, but his effort strikes Reid and the home side manage to clear the danger.
46' We're back underway at London Stadium.
The players are back out for the second half, so we should be underway again shortly.
The first goal was contentious as Pablo Zabaleta was brought down by Angelo Ogbonna under not a lot of contact, but referee Michael Oliver pointed to the spot. Toure converted and started the rout, although the Hammers should have levelled through Sofiane Feghouli. He missed and following City's blitz before the break they are now in command of the contest.
Manchester City are in complete control of this tie, leaving West Ham with a huge challenge ahead of them in the second half. Strikes from Yaya Toure and David Silva, along with an own goal from Havard Nordtveit have the visitors with a foot already in the fourth round.
HALF-TIME: WEST HAM UNITED 0-3 MANCHESTER CITY
45'+2 The referee brings the half to an end.
City eye a fourth just before the break, but Aguero gets too much on his cross for Sterling and the back post, allowing the Hammers to breathe again.
45' There will be two minutes of added time.
43' Sterling makes a run into the channel and then picks out Silva's forward run to allow the Spaniard to convert.
GOALLLL!!!! SILVA MAKES IT THREE! City compound their advantage with another slick attacking move as they break down the right. Sterling has all the time in the world to pick out Silva, who takes a touch one yard out before slotting the ball into the net.
41' GOALLL!!! CITY DOUBLE THEIR LEAD! Nordtveit guides the ball into his own net, but he was powerless to stop the goal as Sterling would have scored if he hadn't. City broke from the back, putting together a sublime passing move. Sagna's cross into the middle was perfect and the defender could do nothing but stick a boot out and see the ball nestle in the net.
38' Antonio sends a cross to the back post that has Caballero scampering to the back post, and the Argentine makes good contact on his punch to clear the danger.
37' De Bruyne lines up a strike from distance, but he can only hit his effort straight into the hands of Adrian.
35' CHANCE! Antonio latches on to Carroll's flick and cuts inside to fire at goal. Caballero makes a smart save, but Feghouli latches on to the rebound with the goal at his mercy. However, the midfielder puts his effort wide of post under slight pressure from Clichy.
33' GOALLLL!!!! Toure holds his nerve from the spot to bury his strike into the bottom corner, despite the despairing dive from Adrian.
31' PENALTY TO MANCHESTER CITY! Ogbonna trips Zabaleta inside the box and the referee awards a spot-kick.
29' Silva almost cuts the ball back into the middle from the byline, but once again Reid is on hand to clear ahead of Sterling.
28' SAVE! From the resulting corner the ball falls to Aguero to shoot on the half-volley and his effort appears to be creeping into the top corner before Adrian tips it over the bar. A fine save from the keeper.
27' CHANCE! Aguero and Silva combine to release Sterling through on goal. The England man has time to shoot, but he takes an extra touch and it allows Reid to close with a great challenge to stop the strike.
24' City break upfield and Aguero attempts to slide a pass into Sterling's feet in the box, but Nordtveit steps in with a challenge. Reid puts the ball out so Obiang can receive treatment after falling awkwardly.
22' West Ham are beginning to find their feet and are pushing the visitors back after soaking up their early spell of pressure.
20' Antonio battles with Otamendi in the box to meet Nordtveit's cross towards the net, but he fails to make meaningful contact.
18' Feghouli sends a cross to the back post which is left by everyone in the area, but Cresswell collects at the back post. He tries to hammer the ball across the face of goal, but Sagna makes an important block.
16' The visitors are trying to slow the pace of the game down as the West Ham opportunity came from catching many City players out of position. A slow build appears to be the new strategy.
14' SAVE! Lanzini slides a pass to Antonio on the edge of the box, who carves out space for a strike. Stones gets a block on the ball, but it still forces Caballero into a smart stop.
12' CHANCE! Clichy raids down the left and sees his first shot blocked, but he tees up Silva in the inside channel. The Spaniard fires a low effort on target, but Adrian keeps him at bay with his legs.
11' Antonio tries to relieve the pressure with a run down the left flank, but Sagna stops his progress and wins back possession to send his side away on a counter.
9' City are dominating possession at the moment and are beginning to force the home side back towards their own goal.
7' BLOCK! Reid is on hand to make a vital block in the six-yard box to deny Zabaleta's left-footed drive after Silva had put an excellent ball into the box from the flank.
6' Sterling makes a surge into the box, but Nordtveit is on hand to clear the danger behind for a corner. From the resulting set-piece, Stones heads De Bruyne's cross over the bar. City's first threat of the game.
5' Stones plays a poor backpass with his right foot that almost falls for Antonio, but Caballero gets there ahead of the winger and finds Otamendi.
4' Silva gifts possession to Carroll in the middle of the park, who makes a forward run into the left channel. However, he gets crowded out by four City defenders before he gets near the box.
3' Caballero takes an uncertain touch on a backpass from Otamendi that almost sparks Carroll's interest, but the City keeper holds his composure to clear.
1' OVER! Feghouli skips past De Bruyne and lines up a shot from distance, only to send his strike well over the bar.
We're underway at London Stadium.
The players are making their way out on to the pitch, so we should be underway shortly.
STAT ATTACK! These sides last met in the FA Cup in 2008 in the third round. City claimed a 1-0 win at the Etihad Stadium in a replay.
Claudio Bravo, Aleksandar Kolarov, Jesus Navas and Kelechi Iheanacho drop to the bench, while Fernandinho begins his four-match suspension.
Guardiola has made five changes from his side's win over Burnley. Willy Caballero, Pablo Zabaleta, John Stones, David Silva and Sergio Aguero all start this evening.
West Ham have made three changes from their defeat to United. Adrian comes in between the sticks to replace Darren Randolph, while Edmilson Fernandes and Andy Carroll replace Cheikhou Kouyate and Dimitri Payet. Sofiane Feghouli starts after winning his red card appeal.
City subs: Nolito, Kolarov, Navas, Delph, Iheanacho, Aleix García, Bravo.
MANCHESTER CITY (4-2-3-1): Caballero; Sagna, Stones, Otamendi, Clichy; Toure, Zabaleta; De Bruyne, Silva, Sterling; Aguero.
West Ham subs: Randolph, Noble, Fletcher, Payet, Calleri, Oxford, Domingos Quina.
WEST HAM (4-2-3-1): Adrian; Nordtveit, Reid, Ogbonna, Cresswell; Fernandes, Obiang; Feghouli, Lanzini, Antonio; Carroll.
The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.
The Spaniard will be keen to make an impression in his first run in the competition, while City have failed to progress to the latter stages in recent seasons. They were knocked out by Chelsea in the fifth round in a drubbing at Stamford Bridge last term, which should inspire to achieve more this time around.
City began the calendar year with a win over Burnley, despite being reduced to 10 men for the majority of the contest. Pep Guardiola's men have overcome a tricky period in their season by winning four of their last five matches, but are still not playing to their best.
Slaven Bilic's men have been struggling for their best form in the Premier League and may see the FA Cup as perfect way to get back to their peak. The Hammers reached the quarter-finals of the competition last term, and were only beaten by United on their way to glory.
The Hammers come into this game on the back of two-straight defeats, including their controversial loss at the hands of Manchester United last time out.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the FA Cup third round match between West Ham United and Manchester City at London Stadium.
