30 March 2012 22:36

The Beijing Ducks triumphed 124-121 over the Guangdong Tigers to clinch their first-ever CBA championship on Friday.

Former NBA All-Star Stephon Marbury led the way for the Ducks with 41 points as Beijing beat Guangdong for the fourth time in the seven-game series.

Friday's victory ensured the Ducks clinched their inaugural title in front of their home crowd.

Marbury, who has played in China since 2010, was very emotional after the match, having won the first major championship of his career.

"This has been incredible, it has been an incredible experience," Marbury said.

"This shows what this team is made up of, everyone stepped up and everyone played their role.

"We have been blessed as a team."

Marbury was assisted by Zhai Xiaochuan with 22 points, as well as four other Beijing players who scored more than 10 points.

Aaron Brooks scored 33 points for Guangdong, who had won the past four Chinese championships.
