25 March 2012 20:11

Northern Ireland's Michael Hoey claimed his fourth win on the European Tour on Sunday, taking out the Trophy Hassan II in Morocco.

The 33-year-old from Belfast shot his second successive seven-under par 65 at the Golf du Palais Royal course in Agadir to move to 17 under for the tournament, three strokes clear of Irishman Damien McGrane, the overnight leader.

McGrane led by one stroke heading into the final round, but closed with a 70 to slip off the pace.

Two Welsh golfers - Jamie Donaldson and Phillip Price - finished tied for third on 13 under, where they were joined by Englishman Robert Coles.

Italian young gun Matteo Manassero finished on 12 under to be tied for sixth, along with his compatriot Edoardo Molinari and South African Keith Horne.

Spaniards Ignacio Garrido, Pablo Larrazabal and Jose Manuel Lara joined South African pair James Kingston and Hennie Otto on 11 under the card.
