Yani Tseng leads the Kia Classic by three shots heading into Sunday's final round in Carlsbad, California.
The world number one fired a three-under 69 on Saturday, giving her a healthy advantage over South Korean Jiyai Shin.
Shin's compatriot, Sun Young Yoo, and Sweden's Caroline Hedwall are tied for third, three shots off the pace.
Tseng started with an early birdie, and followed with birdies on holes seven and 12 before closing out the bogey-free round with a sequence of pars.
Shin was far more erratic in her four-under 68, but started strongly with four birdies from the first six holes.
Bogeys on holes nine, 10 and 12 followed, and although she responded with three more birdies before the day ended, she was made to rue her slump.
Yoo hit five birdies in a blemish-free 67 while Hedwall's solitary bogey came on the last hole in her two-under 70.
South Korean Se Ri Park is fifth at six under while her compatriots Inbee Park and Chella Choi are involved in a four-way tie for sixth with Englishwoman Jodi Ewart and American Alison Walshe.
