The Winnipeg Jets kept their push for NHL post-season action going with a vital 3-2 win over the Washington Capitals on Friday.
The Jets ended the Capitals' four-match winning streak, with goals to Andrew Ladd, Nik Antropov and Dustin Byfuglien enough to secure a crucial two points and back-to-back wins.
Winnipeg are now two points outside the Eastern Conference top eight, with the Capitals holding the final playoffs spot.
Northeast division leaders Ottawa beat Montreal 2-1 in overtime, with Senators' Filip Kuba scoring the winner in the additional period.
Patrick Sharp scored a double for the Chicago Blackhawks as they coasted to a 4-1 win over the Dallas Stars.
The Edmonton Oilers ended the Calgary Flames' five-match winning streak with a 3-1 win courtesy of two goals to Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.
The Los Angeles Kings held off a fast-finishing Anaheim Ducks outfit to win 4-2 and keep alive their playoff hopes.
The Kings are now three points from eighth-placed Colorado in the Western Conference.
Early goals to Alec Martinez, Anze Kopitar and Justin Williams put the Kings clear early, but it was a one-goal game when Cam Fowler and Luca Sbisa pulled goals back early in the second and third period respectively.
But Mike Richards shot into an empty net with 11 seconds remaining sealed the Kings' victory.
