Players marvel at Curry masterclass

28 February 2013 13:34

Golden State Warriors forward Carl Landry is 'bitter' his team-mate Stephen Curry has not been recognised as an NBA All-Star.

Curry has led the line for the Warriors all season and hit a staggering 54 points, including 11 of 13 attempts from three-point range, as the Warriors lost to the New York Knicks 109-105 on Wednesday.

And in light of his recent achievement, Landry feels Curry is widely underappreciated in the NBA.

"He's a very experienced guy to go up for 54 points and it's crazy because he doesn't get the credit he deserves," Landry said.

"He's been a guy who has led us the whole season, him and David Lee, and for a guy to go out there and score that and have that type of performance, I mean it's pitiful that he's still not an All-Star, I'm still kinda bitter about that."

Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony tipped his hat to Curry for the career-high effort and said he felt something special was in the making at Madison Square Garden.

"What Curry was able to do out there tonight regardless of who we put on him, what we did, you know double-team whatever, he still found a way to make the shots.

"Any time you go for 11-from-13 from the three, that's remarkable.

"I knew it was going to be a big night for him. You can just tell, the way he was going, the way he had it going with his confidence, the way he was shooting the ball, the way he was shooting the ball from, you know like he said, 11-for-13 from the three; that's self explanatory right there."
