Loeb still boss in Monte Carlo

19 January 2013 01:23

Frenchman Sebastien Loeb increased his lead at the Monte Carlo Rally on Friday.

Loeb has scaled back his World Rally Championship campaign in 2013 and will only compete in four meetings.

That will rule him out of winning a 10th world title but the Citroen driver still showed his rivals he is the man to catch with another impressive showing in the penultimate stage.

Loeb – who won two of three stages on Friday - is one minute 47 seconds ahead of his compatriot, Volkswagen's Sebastien Ogier.

Russian Evgeny Novikov (+3:19.900s) is third, with Spain's Dani Sordo (+3:21.600s) just behind in fourth.
