There was plenty of trade action in the NHL before Monday's deadline passed.
The moves started flying off the board over the weekend and continued up until the closing minutes.
Here are the biggest deals that went down before the 15:00 ET cut-off:
The Dallas Stars acquired winger Zuccarello from the New York Rangers for second and third-round picks on Saturday. The second-rounder can become a first-rounder if the Stars win two playoff rounds and the third becomes a first if Zuccarello re-signs. He is in the final 12 months of a four-year deal worth $18million.
However, Zuccarello was injured on Sunday while blocking a shot in his first game with the Stars and is expected to be sidelined for at least four weeks. The 31-year-old has 12 goals and 27 assists this season.
The San Jose Sharks added more offensive skill by landing Nyquist from the Red Wings, with Detroit receiving two draft picks in return for the 29-year-old winger.
Nyquist is set to become an unrestricted free agent this year, so he needed to waive his no-trade clause to approve the deal. He ranked second for the Red Wings in scoring ahead of the trade, with 16 goals and 33 assists in 62 games this season.
It turns out the Rangers weren't done making moves, as they traded Hayes to the Winnipeg Jets for forward Brendan Lemieux and two draft picks on Monday. New York will receive a 2019 first-round draft pick and a conditional 2022 fourth-round pick in return.
Hayes signed a one-year deal worth $5.175m with the Rangers last year. The 26-year-old center is the team's third-leading scorer this season with 14 goals and 28 assists in 51 games.
Just minutes before Monday's deadline, the Ottawa Senators finalised a deal to send winger Stone to the Vegas Golden Knights for Erik Brannstrom, Oscar Lindberg and a 2020 second-round pick.
Stone said on TSN shortly after the trade was reported that he will sign an extension with the Golden Knights, with the network reporting the new deal will be for eight years with an average annual value of $9.5m. Stone will not be able to officially finalise an extension until March 1.
Once the deadline passed, the news didn't stop. The Predators acquired Wayne Simmonds from the Philadelphia Flyers in a late deal after it had been reported earlier on Monday that Nashville sent Kevin Fiala to the Minnesota Wild for Mikael Granlund.
Philadelphia will reportedly receive Ryan Hartman and a 2020 fourth-round pick from Nashville for Simmonds, who has recorded at least 24 goals in six of the past seven seasons. Despite seeing a dip in his playing time this season, the 30-year-old Simmonds has 16 goals and 11 assists through 62 games.
