Jurgensen named Bangladesh coach

9 February 2013 15:46

Shane Jurgensen has been named the full-time coach of the Bangladesh cricket team after leading the side on an interim basis.

The Australian first became part of the Bangladesh coaching structure in October 2011 when he held the position of bowling coach before taking over as interim coach late last year after Richard Pybus quit.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will be hopeful Jurgensen can provide some much-needed stability, with the previous two coaches, Stuart Law and Pybus, lasting just over a year at the helm between them.

Jurgensen, 36, was New Zealand's bowling coach between 2008 and 2010 and has also recently been a coach in New Zealand Cricket's high performance programme.

He has been appointed by Bangladesh initially until the end of 2013.
