Broad in doubt for T20s, Tiwary ruled out

Stuart Broad is in doubt for the fourth Test against India after aggravating an old heel injury while bowling in the nets on Tuesday.

England's vice-captain was troubled by bruising to his heel before the first Test of the India tour and was sent for scans after complaining of soreness at training in Nagpur.

The paceman, who was dropped for the third Test in Kolkata as England took a 2-1 series lead, is unlikely to be recalled for the final match of the series, starting Thursday.

The 26-year-old could also miss England's two Twenty20 matches against India, with Eoin Morgan tipped to take over the T20 captaincy.

An update on Broad's injury is expected later on Tuesday.

Meanwhile India have called uncapped batsmen Ambati Rayudu into their T20 squad to replace the injured Manoj Tiwary.

Explosive batsman Tiwary suffered a side strain on domestic duty at the weekend and is set to spend six weeks out of action.

The two T20s are on December 20 and 22.
