28 February 2013 11:17

Cedric Jackson scored 18 points to inspire the New Zealand Breakers to a 104-79 win over the Adelaide 36ers on Thursday.

The Breakers smashed Adelaide with a dominant team performance as Jackson was joined by five team-mates on double figures for points.

In their first game since February 15, New Zealand claimed their 13th straight NBL victory on the back of Jackson's heroics.

The Breakers surged away in the opening term to lead 28-15 at quarter-time.

While the 36ers fought back in the second quarter to level the scores at half-time, the Breakers broke the visitors in the third quarter with 30 points to 12 and then cruised through the final term to record a 25-point win.

Jackson hit two three-pointers from four attempts in his 18 points, while Thomas Abercrombie was the next highest scorer for the Breakers with 16 points.

Daryl Corletto (15 points), Corey Webster, CJ Bruton and Mika Vukona (all 11 points) were the other Breakers to reach double figures.

For Adelaide, Anthony Petrie top-scored with 16 points, while Stephen Weigh, Adam Gibson and Daniel Johnson all chipped in with 15.

The win takes New Zealand to a 21-3 record and leaves them two games clear of second-placed Perth Wildcats.
