Crocs edge Taipans in overtime

The Townsville Crocs have beaten a resilient Cairns Taipans 111-108 in a gripping double-overtime encounter on Saturday.

Peter Crawford (30 points) proved to be the hero for the Crocs as he came up big down the stretch to lead his side to victory, with Gary Ervin (28 points) also playing an important role in the win.

Taipans' import Jamar Wilson was the shining light for the visitors, scoring 23 points and dishing out seven assists in a match played in front of over 4000 fans at the Townsville Entertainment Centre.

In the day's other game, the New Zealand Breakers also needed overtime as they overcame the Sydney Kings 96-94 at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.

Cedric Jackson (24 points) was the star for the Breakers with the American scoring a lay-up with four seconds remaining in overtime to seal the memorable win.
