James hot as Heat rout Clippers, Pistons stop Spurs

LeBron James led Miami to a crushing win over the Los Angeles Clippers, while San Antonio's 11-game winning run came to an end on Friday.

James continued his recent good form with 30 points, while Dwyane Wade poured in 20 in the comfortable 111-89 victory that was set up with a dominant middle two quarters.

It was the fourth straight 30-point game for the reigning NBA MVP, who joins Wade as the only Heat player to achieve such a streak in the franchise's 25-year history.

The Clippers had Chauncey Billups, Chris Paul and Blake Griffin all back from injuries, but they could only combine for 23 points.

The New York Knicks remain a game-and-a-half behind the Heat at the top of the Eastern Conference after a 100-94 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Carmelo Anthony once again led the way with a game-high 36 points as the Knicks overturned a six-point deficit at three-quarter-time.

The Toronto Raptors ended the Indiana Pacers' five-match winning streak with a thrilling 100-98 victory in overtime.

The scores were locked at full-time following Amir Johnson's buzzer-beating tip-in and then Rudy Gay stepped up to nail the match-winning jumper with less than two seconds left in the extra period.

Orlando slumped to their 12th straight loss with a 108-119 defeat at the hands of the Cleveland Cavaliers, with the Magic now just two-and-a-half games ahead of Charlotte at the bottom of the East.

The Bobcats also lost on Friday with Kobe Bryant's 20 points helping the Los Angeles Lakers to a 100-93 victory.

The Detroit Pistons produced the upset of the day with a stunning 119-109 victory over Western Conference leaders the San Antonio Spurs.

Greg Monroe had 26 points and 16 rebounds in the win, while Brandon Knight chipped in with 24 points.

Tony Parker led all scorers with 31 points as he picked up the slack for the Spurs, who were without Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili.

The Oklahoma City Thunder closed to within half a game of San Antonio with a 127-96 victory over the Phoenix Suns.

Kevin Durant had 21 points, while Thabo Sefolosha (18), Russell Westbrook (17) and Kendrick Perkins (17) were all valuable contributors.

James Harden scored 35 points and had 11 assists in the Houston Rockets' 118-103 win over the Portland Trail Blazers.

In other matches, the Washington Wizards ran out 89-74 victors over the Brooklyn Nets, the New Orleans Hornets were too strong for the Atlanta Hawks 111-100, the Memphis Grizzlies downed the Golden State Warriors 99-93 and the Chicago Bulls held on for a 93-89 victory over the Utah Jazz.
