DeRozan heroics lift Raptors over Magic, Knicks stop Celtics

DeMar DeRozan made a fadeaway jumper at the buzzer to hand the Toronto Raptors a thrilling 97-95 victory over the Orlando Magic on Thursday.

DeRozan scored 14 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter, while Amir Johnson chipped in with 21 points and 10 rebounds for the visiting Raptors.

Nik Vucevic had 19 points and 14 rebounds for the Magic, who slumped to their 15th loss in 17 NBA games.

"I just think the basketball gods are against us right now," Orlando guard J.J. Redick said.

"They've turned their backs on us. We need to get back on their good graces."

Meanwhile, Carmelo Anthony starred with 28 points and nine rebounds as the New York Knicks snapped an 11-game losing streak in Boston with an 89-86 win against the Celtics.

Rajon Rondo notched up his fourth triple-double of the season with 23 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists for Boston, who posted their fifth straight loss.

Finally, Goran Dragic scored 24 points as the lowly Phoenix Suns stunned the Los Angeles Clippers with a 93-88 victory.

Marcin Gortat added 15 points for the Suns, who improved to a 15-29 record this season and avoided a third consecutive loss against the Clippers.
