Bryant blasts losing Lakers

22 January 2013 14:06

Kobe Bryant has conceded he was embarrassed by the LA Lakers' performance in their 95-83 defeat to the Chicago Bulls on Monday.

The Lakers' extended their losing streak on the road to six as the Bulls scored 26 points to 14 in the final quarter in Chicago to claim victory.

LA fought back to 69-69 by the end of the third quarter but having picked up their 10th loss in 13 games, Bryant was unable to hide his disappointment.

"It's very, very tough and very, very frustrating," Bryant said after the game.

"I'm trying to keep cool but it's just embarrassing, tonight's embarrassing.

"The big history here (in Chicago), playing here in this incredible arena with these incredible fans, in the house MJ (Michael Jordan) and Pipp (Scott Pippen) built.

"They (the Lakers) put this kind of basketball on the court and it's just not acceptable."

In response, Pau Gasol, who was left on the bench against the Bulls, believes the players need to support each other to get through a difficult period.

"It starts with us all being on the same page, having each other's back and just being supportive of each other," Gasol said.

"I'm not making excuses, not pointing fingers, just owning up to our responsibilities and wanting to get out of this."
