The Golden State Warriors beat the New Orleans Hornets in NBA action on Saturday, while the Spurs and Grizzlies also won.

It was a topsy-turvy encounter at the New Orleans Arena, with the Hornets trailing by 10 (67-57) at half-time, before outscoring the Warriors by 14 in the third term to take an 89-85 advantage into the final quarter.

But with Klay Thompson leading the way, the Warriors steadied in the final stanza to go on and record an impressive 116-112 victory.

Thompson nailed five three-pointers in his season-best haul of 29 points, while point-guard Stephen Curry chipped in with 20 points and seven assists.

Eric Gordon scored 23 for the Hornets, while Anthony Davis (20) and Ryan Anderson (19) were next best.

Meanwhile, Tony Parker poured in 23 points as the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Atlanta Hawks 98-93 away from home.

With veterans Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili sitting on the sidelines, Parker stepped up in the final term to lead the Spurs to their 32nd victory of the season.

Josh Smith top-scored for the Hawks with 21 points, while Kyle Korver (19) and Jeff Teague (16) put in solid performances.

And at the United Center, the Memphis Grizzlies needed overtime to see off the Chicago Bulls 85-82.
