Perth storm back to defeat 36ers

9 December 2012 07:12

The Perth Wildcats produced a stunning comeback to edge the Adelaide 36ers 91-85 after overtime on Sunday.

Shawn Redhage (20 points) and Kevin Lisch (18) were the stars for Perth, who outscored the hosts 14-8 in the extra period.

But not before they battled back into the encounter at Adelaide Arena, levelling the scores with 27 seconds left after only leading once in regulation time.

Adelaide led by seven points with just over a minute remaining before Lisch guided the Wildcats back into the contest.

The 36ers made a strong start to lead 23-17 at quarter-time and won the next two quarters to be on track for a comfortable win.

Perth trailed 62-51 at the last change but surged back into the encounter to force an extra period, when they were too good.

Despite shooting a poor 34 percent from the field and just 20 percent from three-point range, the Wildcats edged an encounter marred by errors.

Mike Dunigan (16 points and 13 rebounds) came up with a double-double for the Wildcats, while Daniel Johnson (23 points) led the way for Adelaide.
