8 December 2012 12:29

American import Corin Henry scored 29 points as the Sydney Kings stunned the New Zealand Breakers with a 75-62 NBL win on Saturday night.

The Kings led from the outset against the league leaders, who slumped to just their third loss of the season at the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre.

Ben Madgen added 19 points, while Ian Crosswhite had 12 points and 11 rebounds for Sydney in their second consecutive victory.

CJ Bruton starred for the Breakers with 18 points and three assists, while Corey Webster chipped in with 11 points.

The Kings gained the ascendancy early on with a 24-11 opening quarter that stunned the defending champions.

New Zealand outscored the home side in the second and third quarters but could only reduce the margin to five points before Sydney kicked away with a 22-14 final term.

Sydney play host to the Wollongong Hawks next up in Round 11, while New Zealand entertain the Cairns Taipans.

In the late tip-off, the Townsville Crocodiles edged the Melbourne Tigers 85-85, coming from six points down at the final break.

Gary Ervin and Luke Nevill both shot 26 points each for the victorious Crocodiles, while Chris Goulding shot 25 for the losing Tigers.
