San Francisco honours victorious Giants

San Francisco Giants outfielder Gregor Blanco has thanked the city during a parade to honour the team's second World Series win in three years.

Thousands of fans turned out to see the Giants after last week's emphatic 4-0 series win over the Detroit Tigers.

"A lot of people support the Giants and we have done it because of them. All the people that are here and all the Giants and the people in the city - it has been unbelievable for us," Blanco said.

"It is great, my child is excited and my wife and everybody. All the family are really proud of what we have done so far and our achievement is incredible."

Pitcher Javier Lopez heralded the Giants' second win in three years amid jubilant scenes in the players' home city.

"This is awesome, who would have thought we would be here twice in three years and every moment like this is special and everybody is drinking it in for sure," Lopez said.
