Yankees will ´crush´ homer record – Judge

4 March 2019 02:17

Star slugger Aaron Judge believes the New York Yankees will "crush" the home-run record this MLB season.

The Yankees set an MLB record by blasting 267 home runs in 2018 as the New York franchise reached the American League Division Series.

Judge – a two-time All-Star and the 2017 Silver Slugger – has high expectations for the Yankees this term.

"With this whole team healthy, we're going to crush the record that we set last year," Judge said.

"We've got a good team, a lot of guys that can make a lot of solid contact, a lot of big boys who can make solid contact and make it go. We're a team that's primed and ready to do that."

Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner, who belted two home runs in the Yankees' spring training game on Sunday, agrees with Judge.

"We're going to hit more this year," Gardner said. "I expect us to have a better offense and score more runs."

Judge slashed .278/.392/.528 in 112 games in 2018. He tallied 27 home runs and 67 RBIs.
