Bengals charge past Eagles

14 December 2012 06:25

The Cincinnati Bengals continued their push for the NFL playoffs with a 34-13 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday.

The Bengals trailed 13-10 late in the third quarter before piling on 24 unanswered points to secure the road win.

Cincinnati quarterback Andy Dalton threw one touchdown pass, while running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries.

Philadelphia were left to rue five turnovers in front of their home fans at Lincoln Financial Field, while rookie quarterback Nick Foles threw for one touchdown in his fifth straight start.

The Bengals, who improved to an 8-6 win-loss record, face the Pittsburgh Steelers next up on December 23 in what could decide the final playoff spot in the AFC.

Cincinnati can clinch their second consecutive playoff berth with a win over Pittsburgh if the Steelers are beaten by the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

The Eagles, who bowed out of playoff contention long ago, slumped to a 4-10 record and 10 or more losses for the first time since 2005.
